Mike and Angie Brown from Becker extremely boring and hard to follow

I have a hard time following Angie from BEC Becker. She just keeps talking and talking so blandly I forget what she was talking about and have to constantly rewind the video lectures. It’s as if she speaks on run-on sentences. Also, did I mention she’s very boring? I cannot focus. At least Peter Olinto and Tim Gearty throw in jokes to make it more fun…

That's so funny you say that. I'm done but went back to hear some of Peter's jokes in BEC when he pops up face to face. I noticed Angie doesn't smile at all (she looks lifeless) and I can't stand looking at hair that short. Luckily I still have access to the old lectures with Peter. I would've never understood Econ or the other section she teaches if I would've had to use her. Becker lectures are all about Tim and Peter..I don't know what Becker will do when they retire or stop teaching and need to update the materials. Also I didn't even finish the IT lecture in BEC because Mike was so boring. He is boring in audit but I feel he is better in AUD.

Is she really that bad for BEC? I have heard great things about Mike Brown on both Aud and BEC.

She does have a boring voice but I think she explains things better than Peter.

Agreed. I can't stand Angie. She just never stops and comments or jokes. It's nonstop lecture, which is just so draining after awhile. I don't mind Mike as much, but Peter is definitely my favorite. He says stuff sometimes that makes me crack up… I try to explain it to my husband and he just doesn't understand 🙁

Tim is the best… Peter is not really good but he's the funniest..

Never heard of Angie, but in my experience, female instructors are boring in general. They never joke or go out of the lecture topic as it was lined. I'm not being sexist or anything, but it's true. haha.

I actually enjoyed Angie. She gets to the point and explains things very clearly. I just need the information not metaphors.

Mike brown on the other hand is a bit pompous for me. It's like he purposely uses certain words to try and sound smart, but is just annoying.

Olinto is the best. The perfect mix of a great professor and an extra from the sopranos. Gotta love it.

    OMG Yes – I cannot STAND Mike….

I quit watching the lectures and went straight to the book – he was turning into nap time which is not what i wanted.

I didnt have Angie, but Mike was awfully boring compared to Peter Olinto and Tim Gearty – I actually enjoy their lectures.

Ive been meaning to leave a review to becker on my opinions after all this is over.

I thought Angie was great for econ. I really like studying econ and monetary policy, so I may have found it more engaging than someone who doesn't enjoy those topics. I listened to the lecture on my phone while out walking around my neighborhood one day, so I can't comment on how she comes across on screen. But I did not find her boring or hard to listen to, and I retained a ton of info from my first time through the lecture, just from listening. No note-taking, no pausing to answer MCQs, etc. I thought she explained things very clearly.

I am having a hard time also following Angie's lecture without getting distracted and having to rewind. Very boring IMO! I do not mind not having the jokes (which I do enjoy) or smiles but I am struggling to go through a few pages following a monotonous voice. I am not looking forward to the remaining of the lectures 🙁

Angie was bad but Mike was the worst. So glad to be on to REG where it is always Tim and Pete.

I actually liked Mike Brown. He speaks as if he is talking to educated professional students.
