So I took BEC today, Jan 23, 2012. I can say that for sure I did not pass the test… and will be repeating it in the next testing window.

The test was not at all as I thought it was going to be. FAR test was way easier than BEC. Many of the question, (although I got the answer, not necessarily the correct one but got one ) took over 3 min. or longer to solve. So the average 1-1 1/2 min. per question went flushed down the toilet… Others just did not make any sense… Time ran out as I was starting my second sim.

It has been the hardest test through out this journey…

Next one coming up REG, which I will start to study for it tomorrow. Lets see how this one goes.

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

@Marivy22…this is anna from 43things..you can read my BEC experience on a different thread, under BEC 1/16. It was rough to say the least. I think Q1 is always tough for some reason.

So you also think your BEC result won't be as expected… Or at least as we thought is was going to be. Oct-Nov testing window tests were so, I will not easy or easier because there were some questions that really got me, but at least they made sense…and all the topics asked, even in the sims, I knew them or at least knew that I went through them in my studies. I don't feel like that with BEC test. I don't know if I am explaining myself… Also, beginners ignorance, I will say, if I would have known… I would have taken FAR, AUD, and BEC all in the same testing window and REG in another… These first three topics, at least for me, are co-related… So if you have them fresh in your mind chances are you might pass all of them in the same window.

Another thing with BEC… I was super worried with the written “essays” due to: 1st English is my second language… So for me to write something that makes sense… Takes A LOT longer than for someone who English is their first language. The correct term does not “checks in” at the same pace than the thought… 2nd; I think 3 hours is way to short if you are required to, then in the last testlet write congruently and with technical knowledge about the subject matter being tested.. I found myself, because I knew that I was not going to have time to finish completely the test… Guessing and rushing through the last of the MC questions just to get to the sims and of course; I did not finish it…

Lets just see how it goes… Wishing and praying for a little miracle…

But as Dory from “Finding Nemo” would say: “Just keep swimming”

Anyways… I will keep reviewing it while studying for REG to take during the first week of April.

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

    @jokami,

Love the “just keep swimming” phrase

I have the same issue, trying to prepare the best that I can for the MCQ's because English is my second language. I definitely agree with the fact that FAR, AUD and BEC materials are kind of related.

Still 3 1/2 weeks for my test. I will leave 2 weeks for final review = non stop MCQ's

    Done 😉

I am getting nervous, my score is going to be released Friday for BEC. I am expecting the worst (obviously failing) because I felt horrible coming of that exam. Questions were coming out of nowhere and for someone who is taking exam for the 2nd time, I should be feeling better. However, I still have some hope that I can pass by some MIRACLE and just be able to focus on FAR..oh yeah and busy season. Shoot me!

    AUD – 75

BEC – 65, January 9th- Waiting on Score

    REG – 68, 81

The way I look at this is: “it is not the first time I've flunked a test”…

I just have to study harder for the next one and try to pass it… But BEC has been the hardest one so far…

Peanut- I am happy to hear I am not the only one feeling that way. It seems as though many ppl share that same feeling with BEC 2012. Apparently exam scores get released Feb 6 now and for BEC a week later. Ahhhhhh!

Jokami- I agree it won't be the first time I fail one either :), but the difference with this crazy exam is I don't think it is how hard you study in this case at least. I felt I knew that becker material inside and out especialllllllly the 2nd time around. I am definitely using Wiley's next if I fail BEC. I am studying for FAR in the meantime. I have gone through Ch 1- 3 already and going back to review them before I jump to Ch. 4. Any pointers, I see you got a pretty nice score :). You too Peanut, any pointers? The material isnt as horrible as I thought it would be (at least ch.1-3) wasn't.

@Zee, none of it is too terrible. Just the amount that's terrible. Try to do progress tests through out so you don't forget any of the material from the beginning chapters. Just keep working it!! I had a problem with chapter 5 I remember. I also think chapter 2 had a ton of crazy questions as well in the review material. Just keep at it, don't let it intimidate you!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67

I am from Puerto Rico… and here, the Becker program is with live professor offering the review for four hours per chapter, for each topic (BEC, AUD, REG, FAR). I have to admit that the FAR professor was the reason that I passed the exam!!! She literally went, page by page, explaining what the exam wanted you to know or learn from each one and at the same time explaining the exercises provided; I am still in awe the way she gave those classes. I studied for one month for this test and listening to the recordings and doing the exercises… took the test and miraculously passed that test! But again it was because of the professor; she will always take all the credit for my passing grade!!!! I even sent her an email congratulating her for her excellent job offering the review.

It doesn't show that you have taken any of the tests… If you haven't, please please please; take them in this order:

    1st – FARE

    2nd – AUD

    3rd – BEC

    4th – REG

The first three in the same window… If I would have know any better; I would have done this order as well and would only have to take REG in this window. Because trust me, I would have passed them in the same testing window!

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

Thanks Peanut! I will keep that in mind. I keep hearing chapter 5 is a pain in the butt! and I heard there are many IFRS questions so I will definitely keeping reading chapters over and over especially those IFRS vs. GAAP charts. I am aggressively shooting to take test before window closes, but that is wishful thinking. I am going to try my best, but if not April or May it is. Oh yeah and depending on BEC score they can change my whole game plan.
