I plan on taking the FAR section sometime in late September, immediately after I obtain my 120th undergrad credit. I have a couple of questions, and need some advice for planning this out.

How long does the application process take? I plan on submitting my transcript to NASBA right after my 120.

Say I take FAR before Septmeber 30th, and I get notified that i failed during October, will I still be able to sit for it again in November?

There is no testing in September. March, June, September and December are blackout months.

If you take it in August you will know in September your score and then retake in October. If you take it in October then you cant retake it till January of 2015. You can only take a test once during a window.

My last day of classes is August 8th, and my grade will probably be submitted a week after.

@JSPERBER it all depends on your state when it comes to qualifying to sit for the exam. For example, I'm in Oklahoma and it took 2 weeks after I mailed my application to get notified that I could sit for the exam.

I suggest calling your state board and asking them exactly when you can apply, what you'll need, and when you can expect a response.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

I am an Illinois candidate and it took approximately 25 days from start of application to approval to sit. I registered for the state board online website and ordered my transcripts to be sent directly to the state board on 4/5/2013. I received confirmation from my university that they sent my transcripts on 4/8/2013. I filled out the state board application on 4/9/2013 (online). On 4/17/2013, the state board e-mailed me to let me know my transcripts were received and they were being reviewed. On 4/29/2013 the state board e-mailed me my approval letter.

I think some states let you apply as a provisional candidate (before completing your degree).

I'm in California and the application process took 4-5 weeks to get processed and approved to sit. After, you still need to submit your payment for the test and it took about 2-3 days to get your NTS. The test windows are Jan & Feb, April & May, July & August, Oct & Nov, you only can take each exam once during each testing window.

It seems to me the earliest you can take your exam is Oct.

Do you think theirs a chance of getting the entire application process done in a week?
