Hello everyone, I just joined this forum, although I have been working at the CPA exams for some time (should have checked out a site like this a long time ago)

I live in NY, work in NY, want to get certified in NY. However I live right at the border of NY and CT and there is an exam center located in CT that has a convenient location and time schedule for my exams. If I take the exams at the CT location does that affect my eligibility to use it as a credit for passing the exam in NYS??

I signed up through the NASBA website and obviously chose NY as the state I am trying to get certified through so I will be using a NY NTS at that exam center.

You should be fine. You can take a section in California if you want to.

The exams are the same regardless of the state. I'm in WI, pursuing a WI license, but take all my tests in Minnesota since it has the closest testing center.

Studying with Wiley Review, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja Audio.
    Retakes with Ninja MCQ only...awesome!
    Far - 1/28 72, 7/22 79
    Aud - 2/28 70, 8/14 83
    Bec - 4/10 80
    Reg - 5/30 64, 7/2 82

The physical location of the testing center doesn't matter.

    REG - 94
    BEC - 92
    FAR - 92
    AUD - 99

^^What they said. I worked in CT, took the exam through CT State Board, but lived in MA so I physically took all my exams in MA. It doesn't matter.

I even moved to CT before my last 2 exams and still physically took them in MA because the MA testing center was closer than the CT one and I was already comfortable with the MA location so why stress myself out by changing?

Thanks for the replies everyone!! Feels like I totally rocked that REG exam and now I'm planning on taking BEC again at the end of August. I work full time so it will be tough but I already passed BEC back in 2012 so hopefully its a short review and will be doable with my job.

It doesn't. I live on the same border and have taken my exam in Long Island, NYC, and CT.
