I do both 🙂

First time through a module I read and highlight as I go.

Then I do the multiple choice questions in the book covering the sections I just read.

Next day, I take notes on the material I read and highlighted the day before.

Then I take 20 question MC tests until I feel comfortable.

Then on to the next section.

When I get to a good stopping point, ie, I just did 5 sections on Assets (in far), then I do 30 question MC test on all five sections. When I feel I got it, then I go to the next group.

Rewriting in your own words is beyond helpful.
