im almost ready to submit my first time application process on CPA central NASBA website, but i have a question. how long does the application approval process for first-time applicants in NY take?

The process/period varies from state to state, as always. It usually runs between 2-7 days.

Take it easy and pay it one section at a time, unless you are absolutely sure of your exact date to sit on each part.

My first time application in NY took 1.5 weeks, like 7 business days, so it's quite fast. Good luck with your journey!

Mine took exactly one month!

Submitted it on July 1st and got my NTS July 30th

Did you send in all of your transcripts? My first time application for NY state made on 9/13/14 (Sat) and I hadn't submitted any transcripts to the board at that time. Then I had to have my Bachelor transcript evaluated (Well. it's a super long story), I paid extra money to the evaluation office to push it fast. Finally, I got my NTS on 10/3/14. The time that the Board received my education evaluation to the time my NTS is ready and sent to me is less than 1 week. I chose Email to received NTS. Good luck :). We are on the same boat.
