    Hi Everyone,

I’m in NY– So I’m in the process of filling out form 4, Applicant Experience Record. I want to make sure I’m doing this right. Section 12 states: Are you claiming eligibility for a one-year waiver of experience under section 70.2 (a)(2) of the Commissioner’s Regulations? If yes, indicate the college or university attended, the degree received and the date of conferral.

So I have my 150 credit hours and am therefore required to have 1 year of experience plus my 150 credit hours for my license. Is that what this is asking? This may be a basic question but I just want to make sure I don’t mess anything up here.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I actually called the people at ext. 270 yesterday because I was confused by this. In your case, you would check “yes”, and fill in the information below.

The reason for this section is if you graduated before a certain date in 2009, you can still go the 120 hrs + 2 years experience route (these are the people that would check “no”). You could always still call and ask, just for your own comfort.

I am filling out the same form…wouldn't that mean she is waiving the experience requirement? The man in my office who helps people fill out these forms says that it only for people who get a masters in accounting…it is such an unclear question!

    FAR- 84 (August 2014)
    REG- 85 (November 2013)
    AUD- 85 (January 2014)
    BEC- 83 (May 2014)

@co10101, thank you so much for your help on this, I really appreciate it. I'm going to double check just to be safe but your explanation really makes sense.

@Lucky– I did get a masters in accounting, which fulfilled my 150 credit hour requirement.
