    Becker Question –

    So I’m just finishing up my Masters with a ton of my friends before we start in public accounting next year. Many of the guys that already attained enough credits last semester have taken FAR. They seem to have the same consensus that Becker’s questions are harder than what you will see on the actual exam.

    Do you guys agree? I’m extremely paranoid about the CPA and I would say my average exam scores throughout college have been 95%, but I feel as if the CPA will be far more different. Essentially what I’m saying is that I’m really good at exams in school, but when I took the ACT before college my score was similar to that of a monkey.

    FAR = 86 4/22/16
    BEC = 80 6/01/16
    REG = 07/26/16
    AUD = ?

    What I like about Becker is that it pretty much teaches you everything. With that said, there is stuff in there you won't need to know but they put it in there for the just in case. Their SIMS I find to be longer than the cpa exam. But that's good b/c when you hit the sims on the exam they don't seem as bad (they are still terrible).

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

    I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

    Just to piggyback off what EuroAddict said, I will reiterate that the reason Becker has a high pass rate is due to them challenging you and making you really learn the concepts and not just going through the motions. With that said, most Becker questions are harder than the actual exam but it will pay off when you actually sit because it won't feel as bad.

    REG: 84 (10/5/15)
    AUD: 83 (11/23/15)
    BEC: 77 (2/27/16) - The bubble sucks
    FAR: 90 (7/20/16) - AND DONE FOREVER!!!!!

    I've noticed my biggest weakness with the computational MCQs is that I would look over a small detail or add an extra component in the mass of information Becker gives. Or I will spend too much time deciphering the table of numbers they give to see which is necessary. Does the actual CPA exam also contain distractors or provide mass amounts of information to trip you up on the questions?

    FAR: 2/12
    AUD: April

    I would actually say that becker mirrors the actual CPA exam pretty well. I would say the MCQ are pretty straightforward and similar to becker. As far as the SIMS I didn't do much of becker for Audit. That is where I struggled but overall there wasn't anything surprising. I mean pretty much expected the material to be covered on the actual exam did show up. Wish I could crank more SIMS than MCQ. Lesson learned. But yea Mehow, if you just go over beckers homework MCQ and the practice I think you will be set to pass. I agree with Euroaddict, the Becker SIMS are much longer than the actual at least for some.

    BEC - 76
    REG- 67, 85
    AUD-63, 74, 80!!
    FAR-65, 62, 57, 79

    Beckers is harder then the actual exam. First they have alot more kitchen sink problems, that one question can require multiple calculations, the actual exam doesn't seem to do that at least in my opinion. I have seen a few questions in Beckers that the explanation was so wild, that it had a disclaimer stating that you would likely not see anything like this on the exam, but Beckers wants you to understand regardless. I huge discount on the program through school, but i see why its worth the money.

    FAR-76 First attempt.
    AUD-79 First attempt.
    REG-79 First attempt.
    BEC-79 First attempt.

    Done!

    BECKERS
