Ok, so here is a quick break down fellow Ninjas. I currently work in Accounts Payable as a Banking Specialist. I can do everything in this department from paying invoices, expenses, sending wires, etc. I am BORED. I’ve been looking since I got my masters, but have kinda stayed put since I get a decent amount of study time at lunch and can do MCQ’s when I have finished all my work. Well, nothing else is opening up here and I’ve just put out some feelers elsewhere until I finish up the Exam. Well, there is an accounting systems administrator position that just opened up, and among the accounting pieces that are required and I can do, there are some IT points, some of which I know, some I dont. Would it be stupid to go into this type of position and be working on my CPA, or would it be beinificial in the long run to have this admin experience within balancing accounts and maintaining the system? Not sure what I should do…. any advice would be appreciated. Thanks y’all!

I say as long as it qualifies for the work experience needed for licensure or you already have the experience you need, then go for it if you want…however there IS something to be said about taking advantage of good study time.
