As far as I understand, the order of the JE on the SIMs doesn’t matter. You can put a credit before a debit. Also, you don’t get penalized for a wrong answer. So help me understand this:

If I don’t know if I need to debit or credit an account, can I just put in the amount in both the debit and credit side and get it right?

Say I don’t remember of I have to credit or debit Estimated Revenue and Appropriations, can I do the following?

Estimated Revenue 100 100

Appropriations 80 80

Budgetary Control 20 20

Will it count?

Am I missing something?

Btw, if you don’t remember, debit and credit Estimated Revenue and Appropriations the opposite side of its normal balance when you record the budget, and the normal side when you close it.

No chance that would work. I'd venture a guess that if the AICPA can produce an exam that routinely fails 50% of its takers, they would be sophisticated enough to program the grading system to only accept one value or both will be considered incorrect.

SIMs are graded by line (at least based on the review material program) and obviously, you're entry is wrong, so I won't take any chances of doing that on the actual test. Just my 2 cents.

I'm kinda worried for the formatting of the SIMS.

It said put “no JE” if no JE is required.The question required a JE for a transaction, but there were like 6 empty spots for the transaction, and I only had 1 JE, leaving 4 empty spots.

Should I have put “no JE” for that transaction is the 4 empty spots? :-/

It didn't make sense to since there was a JE.

Mewish, I think you only use that if there aren't any JEs at all. And once you use it, it's gone off the list, so you can only put that for one entry slot anyway.
