Please help me answer this question if you know the answer!

After you pass all part of the CPA exam and have enough # of years working experience under a CPA you can be licensed. The CPA you work under need to sign off as part of your license process. So what if you applied as a for example New York CPA license, but your boss ( the cpa) is a certified CPA in a different states. Can he still sign on your license process?

    Thank you!

When I inquired about this for my state, someone on here replied that your cpa supervisor who is signing off neds to be licensed in the state you are getting your license.

This varies from state to state – see if New York specifies a New York CPA or just a CPA. In my state (KY), it just has to be an actively licensed CPA, doesn't matter what state they're licensed in.
