REG: 1 week before the exam. Focus on Tax or Law???

I remember my first exam was mostly tested on tax. This time I want to focus more time on tax but people say every time you will get a different exam content. Plus, I’m afraid that if i focus too much on tax, I will forget law materials…

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I'm taking my exam next monday. I got the law material down (i think) but the corporate taxes are killing me. Sorry I cant answer your question but I too am wondering the same thing. Also, is it heavily tested on corporate taxes as opposed to individual taxes? ?

I'm in the same boat as both of you. 7 days of studying left before my exam next Wednesday. Not too worried about the law content, but I definitely won't neglect it. Thinking about splitting my time 5 days tax/ 2 days law. Ton of Becker progress tests as well. Good luck to you both!

Focus on Tax. Period. Everyone's test is different, but, as anyone would assume, you're likely to get SIMs that are tax-based, so you really need to understand the concepts and know how to apply them. Law will most likely come in the MCQs, and you at least have a 25% chance of getting the right answer. Again, that's just my opinion, and I don't think I'm breaking the confidentiality of the exam because I don't even remember what was on my exam except that it SUCKED. Bad.

Tax, Tax, Tax. You will get business law questions but chancese are every single one of your simulations will be tax material. The Reg simulations are probably the most difficult out of all the exams so it's important to know your tax backwards and forwards. Focus on big picture ideas not specific phaseouts or rates.

REG exam on next monday, will review more tax, less business law since the limited time left.

heard that all SIMs are Tax questions, so will review all Sims in Becker. hopefully it will help in the real exam.

    Thanks everyone!!!

That's the plan for me now. Redo all the tax MCQ and sims. Hopefully I'll have that 75 score and finish this REG. I hate it…

Agree with the person above who commented about knowing how to calculate all the bases. Can't emphasize that one enough. If you don't know these forward and backward, you will really have a hard time.

I want to help and answer but I have post-traumatic stress when I think about REG. By far the worst exam for me even though my scores are all similar. Just study everything

    BEC - Pass
    FAR - Pass
    REG - Pass
    AUD - Pass

    @ OP

forget about the sims, just do the MCQ. I stopped wasting my time on the Becker sims after my first exam. Nothing will prepare you for the sims on the actual exam, just know the concepts and formulas.

@monster: To be honest, Wiley sims are pretty good for REG. Last time I didnt do a single sims practice and now I regret. I just did some from Wiley test bank and I wish I had done it last time. The questions I got were pretty similar…

My test is this monday and I'm getting worried. I did 1 testlet in Becker's final exam and scored 60%. They required me to know phase out limits. I hope this isnt the case in the real exam. How do you guys remember all these tax rules. definitely a headache
