    Hi all,

I take my first part of the CPA Exam next Friday. I feel like I don’t have enough time to review. I have been using Becker exclusively. I am still going through R8 lecture/MC and hopefully I will be done today.

Saying that I have tomorrow (Wednesday) through next Thursday to review before my exam next Friday (about a week), how should I utilize my time in the best way? How many hours a day? How would you go about reviewing in that time? Should I read back through the whole book? Work endless MCQ? Both? When should I take final reviews? etc. I have put in so many hours studying up to this point but my mind is going fuzzy and I am having a difficult time remembering anything from previous lectures.

ANY advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have not taken REG yet so this is just advice on my previous experience. Do as much review (reading if needed) as you can and then start doing MCQ on that section, take notes on anything you don't understand, repeat. I suggest doing progress tests, a few a day if you can with 20-30 questions and no more. I would maybe split up tax and blaw on these (what I plan to do). Also try to work the SIMS again and take notes on things you don't understand. Learn how to navigate the IRC in the authoritative literature.

I would only take becker final if you have time and are scoring over 80% on progress tests. I think they do help you in some ways but it is a huge time commitment, and draining, just my opinion.

    AUD - 73,91
    FAR - 79 - Thank you God!
    BEC - 73,79!!!!
    REG - 92 whatttt??!

I used Becker review + flashcards, Ninja Audio, Ninja MCQ supplement on BEC and REG.

    Done! Praise God!

First, if you haven't taken much of a break, take a day and relax and renew your brain. Then focus on MCQ, reviewing your notes, and going over your weak areas until you understand them. The tax calculations are more of a priority but don't forget to review BLAW as that's easy points. Only go back to the book if you're having a very hard time with a subject. If you want to kind of solidify your understanding, do a couple practice sims. But mainly utilize the MCQ and understand differences between individual, c corp, partnership, and s corp taxation. Good luck!

Sure. And I don't agree with taking a day off. Unless you are in just a really good place. You don't want any regrets after it is over!

Good luck! Here's what I did–I drilled MCQs and SIMS a couple weeks before the exam. I was doing roughly 70 questions a day and I'd hit 5-7 SIMS every other day. On a weekend after doing 70 MCQs, I did about 20-30 SIMS.

This reviewing takes time because I would make sure I'd understand all the questions I'd get wrong–that worked for me, I passed the second time around. Reviewing and drilling the MCQs helped so much.

I would do a lot of MCQ and a few SIMS each day. I try to balance between covering all areas and hitting my problem areas hard with the MCQs. When you can't do questions because you are driving or walking or doing mindless work, listen to NINJA Audio for a good overall review. Good luck!

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.
