I purchased Becker’s 2011 REG review materials and am only taking the exam this Nov. 2012. What major changes should I be aware of or look out for, other than the obvious changes to amounts for exemptions, deductions, etc.? Thanks in advance!

From Becker, they told me no major changes in content, just software changes.

If memory serves, *I did take the EA test after REG & BEC* but reg is not interested in exemptions or deduction amounts as much as can you work the formula and know where goes where.

    B ~ 78 (04.02.12)
    A ~ 70 (08.31.12) ~ 77 (10.05.12)
    R ~ 81 (04.04.12)
    F ~ 65 (11.12.12) ~ 73 (02.28.13) ~ 77 (04.01.13)

You will be fine with 2011 materials. Although I have to retake it, I saw nothing out of ordinance with the 2011 material. There were alot of updates for it, but majority of it is not tested because of deductions and such. Tim mentioned it would be a pain the butt for them to update the exam question every year due to the change in deductions and what not. You are rarely tested on things that change year to year. Hope that helps ya. Now…..to rethink my strategy on passing REG.

I just passed using 2011 CPAExcel materials. I don't think there were any major changes. There is an expected content revision for starting in 2013 though.
