Hey y’all this is my first post! I love this site glad I found it. My reg exam is in 11 days and currently at a 60% in ninja mcq. I’m almost in the adaptive learning phase. I listed to all the Becker lectures but still don’t feel like I understood the material. Should I go back and read the Becker book again? Should I just continue to do ninja mcq? Haven’t even looked at any SIMS yet! I don’t feel confident going into this exam and I can’t push it back 🙁 What would you do at this point?

11 days is a lot of time if you focus. You definitely need to practice the Sims some. The research takes some getting used to. I would go through the book and make flash cards on my weaker material 0-3 per lesson. Then review all of those. Then keep working on multiple choice. I found business law fine on the exam but was under prepared for ethics especially circular 230, so focus on memorizing some of that stuff too. If you focus you can definitely get there! This is plenty of time. I've barely started far and I'm taking it in 3 weeks and I'm not freaking out yet. These tests are hard, but if you cover it all, it is doable. Good luck!!

If I were in your shoes, I'd take a day or two to go over my weakest concept areas and then hammer out the MCQs until the exam. I've personally not studied any of the SIMS much at all (for any of the exam sections) other than to get a feel for the SIMS in general and to look through the AL beforehand. So long as you have the concepts down, you should be able to answer or provide an educated guess for each of the SIMS. I actually didn't think the REG SIMs were all that tricky as my exam saved those kinds of problems for the MCQs.

All that being said, I think 11 days is more than enough time to get more comfortable with the material and go through enough MCQs that you're ready to handle any tricks the exam may throw at you. I do have a light to moderate tax background (I just became involved in the tax portion of my firm's practice this past tax season) so I knew a bit of the tax concepts going into my preparation, but even working full-time I thought 3.5 weeks of study was sufficient for REG,

Also, I know we're supposed to shoot for trending scores in the 80s in the NINJA MCQs but the day before my REG exam my trending score was 69, so don't let that stress you out too much. The actual exam still worked out fine for me and I thought the NINJA MCQs were excellent preparation for the exact kinds of questions you see on the exam.

    Good luck!

I took reg on August and got a 73. I will tell you, I'd spend as many days as possible working on the sims. My reg sims were extremely challenging.
