REG or AUD

So I think I did poorly on Aud and think I might need to retest. My score release is Sept 9th. (I just like planning ahead incase I do fail and this is why I am asking). Passed FAR recently and I take BEC Sept 8th btw. I am currently not working now. I use Becker and Ninja MCQ

Anyway, I start work as a first year public auditor in early October. In the case I do fail AUD, should I spend the next three weeks before I start working re-studying and taking AUD again on Oct 1st? Or should I just focus on taking REG before I start working?

Here is my argument for REG:
I will have at least 3 weeks (possibly a few more days) to study REG uninterrupted. It is also changing Q2 2017. I won’t have to study while working and my work anyway will be kinda irrelevant to the test. At least with AUD, if I take it later, some of my work may apply to it.

    My argument for AUD:
I just took it, so the material will still sorta be fresh in my mind. I am positive I can relearn in 3 weeks uninterrupted.

    Thoughts?

Audit is the only section I failed first time out (71) and I took FAR before the retake. I actually only did MCQ's for 3 weeks before my audit retake, and one of those weekends was spent in Talladega drunken debauchery. I don't even remember opening the book and I certainly didn't watch any lectures before the retake. I hope you passed, but if you didn't don't sweat the retake like it's the first time you're taking it. Retakes are pretty laid back in my experience.

REG, most changes happening and if you have no work, study full-time. Auditing will make more sense if you start to do it.

As a worst case scenario, I am not sure if I should retake AUD before I start working or try for REG before I start working.

For the AUD test, I got barely any transaction cycles and so many standards, DOL, IFAC questions so I wasn't as prepared as I should of been haha

I personally say AUD, the longer you wait to take it, the less fresh it will be in your brain (yes you will start working on it but its different than studying) and you'll still have time to pass reg before the changes happen

    AUD - 91
    BEC - 91
    FAR - 94
    REG - 87
    Done!

FAR- taken 8/11/16....now the wait begins
    AUD- scheduled 9/8/16
    BEC- scheduled 10/9/16
    REG-scheduled 12/10/16

I am in a very similar situation – except I am working right now. My problem is that I have my NTS for REG and it expires at the end of November, so I think my decision is made for me already that I need to study REG. Really hoping for the best with my AUD score.

Sidenote – Does anyone know when the 2017 changes are going into effect for the exam? I'm hoping not until Q2 2017…
