I’m not confident I passed BEC, but I am trying to plan out my next exams. Should I take Reg or Audit next?

What is the suggested hour mark for these exams, I know its subjective but for a baseline. I did about 180 hrs for FAR and 90 for BEC.

AUD hands down and twice on sunday! But seriously do audit because the test it changing in july. They are adding stuff with the new governmental auditing standards and what not. Google the changes to see what i mean. So if you can take and pass it before then, you dont have to deal with the changes because nobody knows how they are going to test it. As for a bench mark of time… Everyone is different they say about 140 -160 a test, i studied probably 270 hours for audit. If you can master the AL it will be a big help for the sims

    FAR - 88 (Jul 2012)
    AUD - 85 (Oct 2012)
    BEC - 82 (Nov 2012)
    REG - 92 (Jan 2013) DONE!

I suggest AUD as well. Not only because it is changing, but also because the subject has more overlap with the sections you've already taken. REG is the cheese… and the cheese stands alone.

    FAR - 79 - 07/2012
    AUD - 65, 78 - 11/2012
    BEC - 76 - 11/2012
    REG - 78 - 01/2013
    ETH - 98 - 01/2013

    Material: Wiley books

150+ hours, was not expecting that much for Audit — yikes.

Same amount of chapters as BEC and no calculations. I went through the entire BEC book 2-3x in like 70 hours.

120-130 hrs is what I would shoot for…it's arbitrary

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

I would say REG, but since AUD is going to change mid-year 2013 shoot for AUD now.

There is some overlap with REG & FAR and Deferred Taxes…taking REG before FAR helps you to understand what's going on a little better.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

    @Jeff

Maybe when you have the survey for the scores and what study program they used, you could have number of hours studied. That would truly help people see what the average hours for the people who passed were. I think it would help.

    @OP

If you already bought your books for AUD and the study material go with that due to the test changing. Plus i think AUD is the easier to study and it will help boost your confidence for REG

    FAR - 88 (Jul 2012)
    AUD - 85 (Oct 2012)
    BEC - 82 (Nov 2012)
    REG - 92 (Jan 2013) DONE!

AUD definitely. I felt having just finished FAR helped. Also while we're talking hours, I spent 100 hours studying for AUD if that helps at all. I think it just depends on when you're ready, which can be different for everyone.

    FAR - 83
    AUD - 81
    REG - 92
    BEC - 87
    ETHICS - Done
