Gleim SIM's – Yes I have those and they helped me – Just to test if I understood things as well as I think I did.

I know for REG you can't predict SIM's but no harm in doing some to see where you are at in terms of did you understand what they are asking etc.

I think it's impossible to feel really prepared for REGS SIMS. You just have to hope you get sims you're comfortable with.

Just attempted corporate tax MCQs. I feel a little overwhelmed. Anyone have any tips on this topic? I tried the NINJA strategy, so I have a great set of notes. This method worked great for every other section, but I'm only averaging 50% for corp.

Passed all sections.

till now i am done with ch1 sims in becker and 75 mcq….hoping to complete 25 more mcq before i retire for this day…kind of slow due to failure fresh in mind…hope it will get better soon….

@CPA Soon: Yes, I listen to Becker lecture. Actually, I am using 2013 Becker textbook and listening 2014 lecture. I am really surprised about some information have been changed compare with 2013. I guess I have to listen really carefully in case I miss any important information.

I also print out all the chapter 3 homework so I can review it over and over.

How's your study today? My goal for this week is finish Becker chapter 3 and Wiley homework. Unfortunately, I am still in corporation lecture and hopefully I will be able to meet my goal this week.

@TargetCPA: I used to used Gleim for REG, but, I realized it might be too much to me, so, for this exam, I am going to focus on Becker & Wiley only, make sure I only every questions and Simulations.

When are you going to take your exam? I am taking in May too.

@ Finishorgiveup, I am taking REG on 5/30. Once I am done with Wiley, I planned to buy Gleim TB with SIMS.

Now I am in Module 35 (Individual Tax). As per my strict schedule, I have to finish Mod 35 tomorrow. Still I am in review and notes taking 🙁

Corp tax is my next topic. Did u finish Individual Tax?

@target cpa….i am giving the exam 3rd time now…so the % is around 85-90….i want to maintain this % and do more sims, so i won't be stuck due to the sims again…my plan is to write all the taxation notes once again this week…next week i will do the same for b-law…and by the last week i hope to be ready for the exam again….

PS — Some of you with Gleim and Becker or Wiley may think Gleim is too much.

From someone that had to take REG three times I can tell you Gleim saved my butt! It maybe a lot but its worth at least knowing.

REG can throw anything at you and any kind of SIM at you… even if its a small topic that might be just a paragraph can come up as a full blown SIM.

So the more you know the better you will in the exam. Now I am not saying go memorize all the rate and thresholds. I refer to the Concepts of REG.

@kenada…that's exactly what happened with me ….i was caught with unprepared concepts….and i see that sims in becker and wiley are almost exactly same (many of them)….so i don't have exposure to new ones…
