I am using CPAExcel to study for reg but the corporate tax is so confusing that I need something else to supplement. Would you recommend UWorld Roger CPA Review or yaeger cram for corporate tax ?

I tried the demos for Yeager and roger. Roger is more entertaining but I'm not sure which one is better at explaining concepts since the videos are too short. The prices are very similar but roger only offers 2 months of access so if I fail the upcoming exam in May then I won't be able to use it for my 2nd try. I also wonder about the quality of Yeager handouts and roger cram book as well. I would love to hear more comments before making my purchase.

If you're feeling weak on a topic – I would read your text book thoroughly and work a million MCQs over it.

Here are some free notes/audios to check out too: https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-study-plan/

the cram is a summary of what you need to know to pass. I don't know if it is enough to pass alone, but if you can stand anymore videos at this point ( I really can't) , I like the yeager cram and its not expensive. You might do better just doing mcq's

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader.....time to pass

goldenpeanut, I have never used Roger but I can vouch for the Yaeger cram. As you can see by my signature, I failed REG the first time. That was after about 10-11 weeks of studying and using the full Yaeger self-study course. For my retake, I bought the Yaeger cram and studied for 6-7 weeks and ended up increasing my score by 20 points (I also added in the Ninja notes which are amazing too and definitely helped!)

The Yaeger cram does a great job of teaching you the basics and telling you most of what you need to know for the exam. I would say it would be a good compliment to CPAexcel. And like Jeff said, if you are feeling weak on a topic, read the chapter then drill MCQs. I did that the last week of studying for my retake and it definitely helped on exam day 🙂

I purchased yaeger reg cram last night but I am so disappointed with the tax handout. There is nothing on it other than the tax forms which I can easily download it myself. The notes for business law is good but I need help for tax not business law. Sigh….I should go with roger
