Scheduling Strategy for Rescheduling Failed Section in light of Next Test

I’ll be fine tomorrow, but today I’m not a happy camper as I felt like I was thoroughly prepared for AUD and was comfortable leaving the exam only to find that it apparently wasn’t enough.

When you don’t pass a section, is the common wisdom to reschedule it the next testing window while it’s still fresh in the mind? Once I get the official results, I’m hoping that I was only weak in one area and can focus just on that area.

My challenge is that I have FAR scheduled 10/1, last date in the window, so it can’t be moved back any further.

I need to focus my energies on FAR but thinking of trying to retest for AUD in the Oct/Nov window.

Any thoughts/suggestions/feedback would be super appreciated.

    BEC - 75 lost credit, Jan/Feb 2016
    REG - 76 lost credit, July/Aug 2016
AUD - 67, next test date TBD
    FAR - 78, lost credit, October 1, 2015

I always focused on a section until I passed it instead of moving on. It may take longer, but it was well worth it in my opinion. If you put another test in between then you could lose a lot of knowledge. Also, for my 2 retakes I started the studying completely over. I had my test banks reset, reread the book, and started from scratch. You really don't want to make the mistake of focusing on a weak area based on the score report. I don't think they are extremely reliable because they are comparing you to other people that sat during the same time frame. You also run the risk of turning strong areas into weak ones because you didn't restudy those areas.

CPA Exam - Finally DONE (November 2014)
    BEC (08/10/13) 80
    AUD (08/24/13) 65 (11/13/13) 85
    FAR (04/12/14) 81
    REG (07/19/14) 69 (11/29/14) 87!!
