Should I go over Auditing Standard one by one?

Hey guys. I use Be*ker as review material but Wil*y as the MCQ source. I realize Wil*y lists every Auditing Standard in different sections, from NO.1 to NO.18. Should I go over such standards one by one? I do realize some concepts but I cannot tell which number they stand for.

Also, my AUD exam is scheduled 5 day later. What I do everyday is simply doing MCQ over and over again like an idiot. Could anyone tell me what I should do these days to get a boost?

Do some of, if not all sims. Take the AICPA practice exam for audit. Read a few standards to see how they are organized and understand the differences between the numbered paragraphs and A paragraphs. Know where the opinions are. Do a quick review of standards for review and attestation. Then glance at PCAOB 5 for issuers to see how it is laid out.

    Off topic question

For research type question in AUD, will it tell you which standard it is from ? AU-C ? AT? etc?

    marqzho –

While the question won't specifically say “research the AU-C to find the answer,” it will give you clues. For instance, you might get a questions that specifically states that you are performing an audit, which would fall under the AU-C. However, keyword searches are going to be your best friend when doing these research questions. First do an overall keyword search. Keep it super simple – one or two words. Then modify your search to narrow it down, and “search within”. If you have some sample research questions that have stumped you, I'd be happy to help you figure out the best keywords to use for your search. If you do the search right, you won't even really have to know which section of code to look through.

    marqzho – Issuers use PCAOB.

Nonissuers always AICPA – reviews are mostly AR, attestation AT, audit always AU-C not AU, ethics ET. the most important thing is knowing what type of engagement you are being asked about and whether it is for an issuer or nonissuer. if you go to the link i posted above there is a post with a link to all the standards and my suggestions to help with sims.
