Starting to Panic…

So I really thought I pulled through with at least a 75 if not greater on my latest REG test which I took 11/26… I work in a public firm and my busy season starts to pick up early January. I have 2 sections left and really only 1 full testing window left to do it. I lose FAR 4/14/15. I know its not the worst thing in the world to lose a section, but the thing is, idk how I passed that the first time around, so the thought of having to take it again scares the sh-t out of me.

The first time I took REG I got a 74, this time I got a 71 and both times, I KNOW it was 2 specific sections that tripped me up – BLAW and I think property transactions, because I do probably 50+ high net worth 1040s a year. My question to NINJAs is, with the holidays coming up, when should I reschedule REG for? I was originally thinking 1/2? Not take any days off of work (ie the week of xmas and NY except for the actual holidays obviously) and utilize the quiet time in the office, when everyone else has the days off.

Or should I do more like 1/19? But then that cuts into BEC, which I clearly have never really put enough time and effort into.

And what should I do? Just do MCQs? or should I go back and write notes and the whole thing again (this being the 3rd time through)?

This is where the panic sets in because it really is not an option to sit for an exam early April… I have always got great responses and motivation and advice from this forum and I am hoping for some tonight – its been a rough day!

    FAR - 84.
    AUD - X,X,76.
    REG - X,X,75.
    BEC - X,X,74*, 81 AND IM DONE!!!!!!

*if i dont pass, i lose FAR.

Study materials: Becker videos/MCQ/Books, NINJA Blitz helped to finally pass AUD and REG.

First exam was in May 2013, seems like so long ago - FINALLY DONE!!!

I would study REG until the first of January and then sit for REG again. For reg I wouldn't re watch any lectures or anything like that. I would simply do MCQs in problem areas while taking some time to review your strong areas as well just so you don't lose your strong points. A 74 and 71 means you have enough time in to pass, now it's just a matter of performing on exam day IMO.

I would then start studying for BEC and sit for BEC whenever you can't stand studying anymore during busy season…I think you can will yourself until the middle of Feb or so.

    BEC: 10/2013 71
    AUD: 12/2013 75
    BEC: 02/2014 89
    REG: 05/2014 86
    FAR: 11/2014 81

The more important question is how many hours did you study for REG to get a 71 and can you study more hours than that between now and Jan 2? If you put in 100 hours to get a 71, I'd plan on at least 120 hours before taking it again. If you need to take one in April you could if you set your mind to it.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

Thanks guys, I knew someone would give me some advice… I know I can physically sit in April but idk how happy my firm will be if I have to take a day off in April… I was hoping it wouldn't come to this.

Re-take it in January, why wait until April.
