Take CPA exam in another state

Hi, I am currently living in Dallas TX. I am planning to move to New York in Spring 2015. However, I don’t want to wait about 6 months to apply for CPA exam (I might take 1 part in TX then the other 3 parts in NY). Can I apply New York CPA exam but I take the test in TX?

    Thanks

It does not matter what state you take your test in. I have taken one of my exams and received credit for taking it in a different state than my application resides.

I heard that transferring credit is not that easy. I am pretty sure that I am moving to NY. Therefore, I want to apply to NY CPA exam but take the test in TX. Is it ok?

That may be worth a call to the NY board to find out for sure. I don't see it being a problem though.

I'm currently a resident of MD taking the test for the state of VA, so yes.

I took the exam through the Connecticut Board, but physically took all my exams in Massachusetts.

The physical location (state) where you take your exam doesn't matter at all. Only the state you apply to for your exam.
