Hi Everyone I take FAR tomorrow, and I feel I am prepared (Fingers crossed, knocking on wood). I have decided that pass or fail that I will be studying for REG next. A question I had is that unlike FAR (I really liked and was good @ Financial Accounting) I only took one Tax class (B-), and I am very very unfamiliar with the material. Does anyone have any recommendations as to any material to set a foundation to start my intensive studies next Month?

For FAR I bought NINJA Books, MCQ, and Notes (I paid), in conjunction with Becker video format class (boss paid). However I felt that I had a solid foundational understanding.

So question, sorry for the rant: What material would build and help with a solid foundational understanding of the material on Regulation ahead of my hardcore studies next month, and exam in August?

    FAR 5/6/2015- 84
    REG 8/3/2015 - 87
    AUD 10/25/2015- 69 1/20/2016 -75
    BEC 2/26/2016- 80

    Thank you God

Start with Becker finish all the chapters. Then use ninja as a supplement

I am very very inept when it comes to tax. However, I only used Becker, studied it really hard, and managed to pass. Had I not passed though, I would have gotten the Ninja MC questions and SIMs. After going through Becker material I felt like I just wish I had had more questions to practice, but the fundamental knowledge for me came solely from Becker. Good Luck!

May I ask why you are dead set on studying for REG pass or fail? It sounds like this might be your first exam, and if it is, I don't see any reason to rush right into REG. I followed the exact same ordering and if I didn't pass FAR in November, I would have sat in early January, rinse and repeat until I passed it. There are a lot of stories of people on this forum who tried every exam once and failed them all. Being back to square one, disheartened, and down $800 is not a good look. I'd focus on getting one under your belt before automatically moving on (especially because you won't have time to take REG in this window anyway)

(Disregard most of that if it isn't your first sitting LOL)

    MD Candidate: 10/1/14

    FAR - 87 (11/23/14)
    REG - 87 (1/30/15)
    BEC - 89 (4/19/15)
    AUD - 98 (5/30/15)

    Ethics - 100

    @juuustin

    No first time.

I completely agree that it makes more sense in continuing to sit for one until you pass, and looking back retrospectively (change in accounting principle, entity!) I would of go the route you recommended. Unfortunately my boss paid for all four sections of Becker's review course at once, and I just rushed to sign up at once (not very bright on my part).

I see your from Maryland! So am I originally (GO PG County- Hyattsville), I am sitting in Boise, Idaho though right now.
