I would like to start a thread to thank Jeff for what he has provided to the CPA student community and the CPA’s. Thanks Jeff for another71. This is a place where we can share our happiness, knowledge, vent out our anger, frustrations etc.. The inputs provided by my fellow friends in another71are invaluable. For e.g. i found a good input for AUD. Using research for answering SIMS which never struck me. The only regret is i found it after i gave my AUD exam for the third time. That is the reason why its important to be in touch with another71 regularly. That was a very useful tip. We get to know when results are released in different states. I cant imagine life as a CPA student without another71, Once again, from the bottom of my heart i thank Jeff and wish his family and his extended family(another71 members) a happy, prosperous and healthy life. I also request my fellow colleagues to join me to express their thanks and gratitude to Jeff in this forum and lets thank Jeff for the thankless job he is doing and show Jeff what a special person he is and what he means to us. Thanks.

It really is amazing how an online community can be so supportive and honest (sometimes we need to hear the cold hard truth). I also learned to use the AL for all AUD sims here! Because of that tip, I practiced research like nobody's business. And I found 3 SIMS word for word.

From exam tips to being held accountable by joining study groups. From being able to share my experience to hopefully help others to all of the entertaining OT threads that only a CPA candidate could understand. This website has kept me sane.

Plus, at my lowest point after fails, Jeff offered some very encouraging words and advice. (He probably gets so many emails, he doesn't even remember). But he is a big reason I started to believe in myself.

    Thank you Jeff!

My turn to say thank you!

I was working too many hours to pass. So I changed jobs. Then I thought it would be easy to pass working normal hours…. Well I failed hard on my first attempt at truly “studying” for AUDIT. I was crushed maybe I wasn't “CPA material”. Then I found this site. And wow it changed my world!!! Taking advice from someone who had already gone through this ordeal and put his tips together for our assistance was the best thing I've done. THANK YOU JEFF! I joined this forum May 2012. Started studying using ELL in June for my August date with FAR. And I passed my first exam ever. It has still been a tough road. This is honestly the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life, but it will be so worth it. Only one more to go for me. Thank you Jeff and thank my fellow A71 buddies 🙂

I think without this forum, I'd probably given up thinking that I am not worthy of the CPA cert…however, knowing that there are others struggling just like me, I will continue to strive on!!! There are so many inspiring stories!! IF they stuck with it, then why should I give up? I must try hard and if not, I will die tryin' (should I quote 50 cent on this one?). lol. Thank you Jeff!! Thank you for the Forum, for your notes, your audios and your flashcards!! =)

Does anyone know what another71 means? I've been wondering this since I joined. I thought that it may have to with with getting another 71 on the test, but I wasn't sure because why 71? If it was another74, I would understand that because it's one point from passing.

@MrsBing – A few years ago (not sure exactly how many) it was almost unheard of to get anything between a 71 or 75. I'm not sure why, but I've been told it was to decrease the number of tests requested for rescores. Therefore, if you got a 71 it could mean you actually scored a 71, 72, 73, or 74.

Plus, if you read Jeffs story he got a ton of 71s :). By the way, I am still so new here and already see the immense value of this place. Thanks very much Jeff!
