To everyone who’s taken BEC – 11 days before BEC – Finish with Becker or Ninja?

So, I’ve got 11 days before my BEC exam. I’ve gone through all of the Becker questions one time (and all of the questions I missed I’ve answered twice). On my first run through on all of the Becker questions, I got 1075 correct out of 1340 (so a little over 80%).

Because this is my last exam, and I want to make sure I pass it, I purchased the Ninja BEC multiple choice questions (I love the Ninja MCQ by the way. Great and affordable product Jeff! I wish I would’ve gotten Ninja sooner!). So far, I’ve done around 320 or so Ninja MCQs and my average is 78% and my trending is 77% I think. Should I continue to do Ninja questions and try to get to the review phase before the exam or should I focus on redoing the Becker questions or should I do some of both? I want to make sure I get the most out of these next 11 days of study time. One thing I’m also doing is rereading 1 chapter of the Becker BEC book each weekday and 2 chapters on each weekend day so I can read through all of the materials at least two more times before exam day. I work full time, but I’m generally able to do about 150-250 multiple choice questions during each weekday and 300-400 during each weekend day.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

11 days out you should focus on doing NINJA. Learn what your weak areas are over the next couple of days and then go back to Becker and rework those areas that you identified as weaknesses. That's how I did it.

If you've already done Becker's and gotten around an 80% on all, you may run the risk of repeating or spending time on questions you remember.

    Keep doing Ninja!

@Angelwatch & @shanek327 – Thank y'all! It sounds like I should primarily focus on Ninja MCQ for now and maybe do some Becker questions in a few days on the few specific topics that I'm struggling with. I think I'll try to hit the review phase in Ninja before BEC! I saw that the pass rates are really high if you can make it to the review phase and have an 80%+ trending. Do y'all have Ninja pick all new questions randomly when you're doing the MCQs or do y'all do the questions by topic?

For REG, I used the custom “all new” until they were all complete, then “missed last time seen” until I hit the review phase. I was afraid if I went section by section, I'd answer too many similar questions in a row & only know the answer to one question because it was just like the previous. But, if you're more comfortable doing section by section, I don't see where that would be a problem as long as you mix them up occasionally or at the end! Good luck! I'm on to BEC now & just started studying!

JB2015, sounds like you are doing something very similar to what I am. Hoping to finish up this CPA adventure next week with BEC. I went through RogerCPAReview and felt like I needed a few more questions to prepare so I purchased this a few days ago. My scores are trending slightly lower than they were with my primary course as well. Good luck!

@BoutTime4CPA – I think that's a great strategy. That's what I'll probably do! I prefer doing questions randomly instead of by topic, since it more resembles what we'll see on the test.

@buckgrad – Hopefully we both will be done with this crazy journey this month! I'm guessing once we both get to the adaptive phase, our average scores and trending will probably drop. I'm already bracing myself for that because I know my confidence will drop a little bit seeing the average score on Ninja get lower and lower for a while. Good luck to you too! Let us know how your exam goes! Hopefully we'll both be celebrating in early August!
