What is this ethics exam…? I'm in CA

I found out I passed FAR yesterday and I’m done (YAY!) But now I have to take the ethics exam and I heard it’s really tough (BOO). I researched the forum but came across some mixed information. If anyone can clarify for me and give me some tips as well, that would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Apparently, it used to be the case that you are tested on the same 50 questions when you failed the first attempt. But now, you get a new set of 50 on the second attempt?

    2. Is the book still available in PDF format so we can “look up” the answers?

    3. Do we still get 3 attempts? What happens if I failed all 3 attempts?

    4. Does the website save your answers? Can I log in and out? I read this one guy that he logged in once and printed out the test. When he logged back to enter the answers, his test completely changed!!?!

    5. Is passing score still 90%?

    6. There is a report that tells me the areas I got wrong if I fail the test?

    7. What are some tips you can give me?

Sorry for the numerous questions. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Apparently, it used to be the case that you are tested on the same 50 questions when you failed the first attempt. But now, you get a new set of 50 on the second attempt? This is true… New questions for each attempt. I'd print out the questions and take notes with page numbers.

    2. Is the book still available in PDF format so we can “look up” the answers? Yes.

    3. Do we still get 3 attempts? What happens if I failed all 3 attempts? You email them and they give you 3 more tries.

    4. Does the website save your answers? Can I log in and out? I read this one guy that he logged in once and printed out the test. When he logged back to enter the answers, his test completely changed!!?! Yes, the website does now save your answers, this is new within the last month or two. You can log in and out and your answers are saved. This happened to me. I printed out the exam a few months ago, worked on it for idk like 10+ hours spread over 3 or 4 weeks and went to log in and CalCPA had changed their whole website and my exam was different and they didn't have my first attempt listed. I think they are having some website issues… I was pretty upset. I think they should have communicated the change to the people with tests already issued. When I complained they told me that the test now changes every time you log in but it saves your answer. This was not my experience. The test has been the same after logging in and out, but my answers are saved.

    5. Is passing score still 90%? Yes…

    6. There is a report that tells me the areas I got wrong if I fail the test? The new test (since the website change) does tell you which #'s you got wrong and why. It doesn't tell you what the correct answer is… But it does reference the sections in the text where the answers are.

    7. What are some tips you can give me? See above.

    Good luck!!

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.
