What's your "PV"?

Like many, we wonder if we are compensated appropriately. I definitely think about it every now and then. Fortunately, I’m very humbled of my current situation and I’m not in a bind for cash. However, I’ll need to be a provider soon and earn some real $s. Please share your thoughts on my valuation and share yours.

27, gulf coast area, 7+ years in financial service (of the 7+, 3+ years in A/P accounting and financial reporting), Masters in Accounting, CFE and one away from CPA. Current PV = mid 40s @ 40hr/wk.

Please evaluate. Under/over compensated. What’s the adjustment?

What is a PV? Professional value? Is that tantamount to salary?

    FAR - 92 02/2013
    AUD - 90 05/2013
    REG - 85 10/2013
    BEC - 80 12/2013

    I'M DONE. THANK YOU LORD!

@henry, lol. I was attempting to use the accounting abbreviation of PV as a pun (Note to self: new topic failed). PV = Present Value. In this matter, it equals salary. I know, it's corny but the CPA exam does that to people.

I had a hunch that it is present value :P. Back to topic, My answer would be subjective. It is enough for me if the working hours + commute time does not make you a lifeless person.

I talk to people telling me I should be making six figures. That said, it shouldn't be too much about money but about how you're actually becoming invaluable, because the market will eventually set your FV.

    CPA - Since 2015
    CISA - Smashed 2012
    CIA - Passed 2015
