Do you only apply limits (ex: 10% medical) when the question specifically states to apply it?
I’m going back through all the MCQs/SIMS and some don’t specify that they are looking for the amount before applying the AGI limits. I just did a simulation on itemized deductions and got the entire sim incorrect because my answers were after taking the AGI limits off. No where in the question did it ask to answer this way, so I figured it was just like MCQs where you normally factor in the limit.
What’s the best approach if you get a problem like this on the exam? Is there a general rule to this? Thanks!
