Wiley questions vs. REAL test questions

    I’ve been doing Wiley hw questions and from the test bank. I think those are moderately easy. I’m just wondering if the real test would be trickier and harder? I just don’t want to develop a wrong idea about the test based on what i’ve countered so far using Wiley.

    Thanks

    FAR 5/14 88 PASSED!
    REG 7/13 74 :((((((((....! I cant believe it!!!! I studied so hard...
    REG retake 11/29 -> 89!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BEC 10/11/12 -> 84!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    AUD 10/25/12 -> 95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'm DONE! OMG 8 months of hard work.

    I SHALL PASS. BECAUSE IT'S ME, SO EVERYTHING WILL BE OK!

    I think the Wiley Test Bank has excellent questions to prepare you for the exam. Many of the questions (most maybe) are directly off past exams.

    However, you can definitely expect the actual exam to have some questions that are tougher and more tricky. The love to throw in curveballs. But if you know Wiley-level-difficulty questions really well, the tricky ones shouldn't dominate your score.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    REG - 87
    FAR - 86 - Woot, all done!
    Ethics - 100

    Wiley's pretty good…I use Becker and Wiley, and find Wiley testbank to be harder than Becker and maybe similar to Real exam!

    Just wanted to update this thread, how about Wiley simulations, how would you guys compare those to actual exam sims?

    On top of what gans555 said.. ive been scoring horrible on the tax portions of Wiley, but I did pretty good on Becker.. I don't get it.. Wiley goes into much more depth on the material… whats the exam like Wiley or Becker?

    @futuremdcpa, both Wiley and Becker buy their questions from the AICPA. Wiley online testbank helped me bump my REG score 20 points. I was able to fly through the Becker REG questions, then when I hit Wiley I was like “crap, do I even know this stuff?!” They were kicking my butt. Keep at them! Wiley is great for REG.

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    @Peanut — Thanks for replying.. Im glad you understand how I feel… Wiley has made me so angry!!! I was about ready to throw my laptop across the library.. Wiley makes Becker seem much easier.. Its really weird though since they both have licensed AICPA questions.

    I will def. keep at the questions.. I have my first exam in exactly 2 weeks!

    REG: PASS || BEC: PASS || AUD: PASS || F: SCORE PENDING..

    @futuremdcpa, did you just graduate? I feel like we're in the same boat. I'm taking my first exam on July 16th.

    @futuremdcpa, I think it's because you start to get used to and familiar with the Becker questions without realizing. Then you hit the Wiley questions and it quickly puts you in check lol

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    Hey Peanut, when you got your referral, how long did E&Y take to respond to you after you completed the profile online.

    @gans555 – Yep, just graduated…I thought 7 weeks for REG were more than enough.. but as soon as I hit WIley.. man some of those questions are really crazy.. I think im getting them wrong because Becker isnt too detailed in their questions..

    @Peanut – I guess your right.. I realized when I was re-doing MCQs for the tax portion of becker… I would already know the answer without reading the whole question, thats why I bought Wileys Test Bank.. Its really keeping me in check.. I have two weeks to study all of the questions again, and dive into AMT for Indiv/Corps.. I have zero clue about AMT.

    AMT is fairly simple, once you get the hang of it. You just need to memorize the preference and adjustments. However they are pretty easy because you add back all of them. The only adjustment I know that gets subtracted is a state income tax refund, which i have yet to see. Keep up the good work and you'll get it.

    Also, make sure you do all the wiley simulations. Trust me, they are gold.

    @bullandre, It was soo long. I really thought I had lost my shot it was taking so long. She submitted my resume in October. Got an email saying they got my referral a few weeks later. Then didn't hear anything until mid-January! Had a phone interview, then went in for the in office interview the last day in February. It was a long time, or seemed like a long time to me!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58
