Currently I am obtaining both my MBA and CPA. I will also scoop up the CGMA since it will be a free certification. After that, will there be any more value added in terms of obtaining a job and putting it into my resume?

What other certifications or degrees should I pursue which would add value? I currently only have financial reporting experience.

I agree with everyone. Get a job. If you want to be spend extra time bettering yourself find areas where your weak at your job and work on strengthening those your first year.

Keep in mind having to many certifications my might make you look to over qualified for some entry level opportunities, while those same certifications alone will not help you qualify for more senior accounting positions. Its not like another certification will allow you to make more money entry level after the cpa.

I would get a job and after 2 years of experience maybe consider a CMA.

A JD takes a lot of time and money to get. If you have a lot of that to spare, you could go for it I guess.

You need internal auditing experience to get the CIA license. It has to be within 5 years of passing the exam.

It really depends on what type of job you would like to do. I wouldn't get a CIA unless you want to do internal audit, or a CMA unless you actually want to be a cost/managerial accountant. PHD would be good if you want to be a lifetime academic, professor, researcher and so on. JD would probably add value to any resume, but as others said it does take a large investment of time, money, and other resources. I always thought CISA would add value to a CPA because so much of our world is highly integrated with constantly changing technology. If you just really love to learn, maybe you should consider learning another language or multiple languages. It could be personally fulfilling as well as adding professional value. Good luck.
