Okay folks, Just received my score report with a score of 72.

Basically, I scored 3 stronger in 16-20% contents and 3 comparable in 12-16% contents resulting in overall stronger in MCQ and weaker in sims. I mean, I thought for sure I passed Audit second round but sims really killed me. I know the material as you can see. What can I do to improve my score on sims?? I try using AL as much as I can but you can’t always utiliz AL on all sims… please help!!

Didn't you get ratios and as you passed BEC and FAR ,curious how you had difficulties in SIM.Please share as I am focusing on FAR topics like Inventory ,ratios,IFRS, Framework etc for AUD SIM .DRS is mostly reports and you can search reports from AL,isn't it?

Yes- I passed BEC and far with clear understading of those. But ratio related questions in audit is something I don't seem to grasp because I never got to practice them. Where can I get more sims related to the following topics:

1. Inventory / bank reconciliations
2. FS Ratio trends year to year cause explantions on IS and BS.
3. Audit Risk effects on Client’s actions, Auditor’s actions
4. Independence – direct / indirect relationship

Does anyone know where in Authoritative literature I could find information about topics above??

I am reading Auditing standards for SIM .For ratios I am scanning Analytical procedures related topics.Inherent Risk or Control risk related SIM where one factor changes and impact on others need to be selected or filled.Please read AU 312 thoroughly .I have collected all MCQs on this Risk topic as I used to flunk on Risk topic and also reading Roger's ,I found out it's easy thing and logical except when it comes to derivatives.You may check “off Balance sheet risk” on google.This topic of risk can't be solved by common sense.

Bank Reconciliation :Check Becker's.It's good concept as BR can be used for more then one assertions.

I'm on the same boat. I failed AUD twice at 72. I'm also Stronger on MCQ and Weaker on SIMs.

Nath- I am okay with inventory related questions. The topics I posted earlier are copies from other post. My main issue remains with ratios and its effects to the f/s and audit risks.

is it me or just did WAAAAY to many people pass on FEB 7 (esp AUD). Which means the curve won't be as generous (?).

I guess finally someone answered my question from another thread you can't pass AUD with a weaker in SIMS.

Action CPA –I cant believe AICPA wont pass someone with a stronger in MCQ and weaker in SIMS. A 72 is heartbreaking. I think I just predicted my score as my release is for FEB 23. Good luck in the retake.

I always felt the AUD sims were by far the easiest to study and do. They always just felt like a drawn out MCQ with drop downs, or basic JE's. Maybe conceptually these were more to my strenght.. Not sure.

Granted I failed AUD once and passed barely my second go. My score report for the first fail had me at comparable for SIMSs.

AUD was my last test, and I did feel a lot of what I learned in FAR and BEC helped make it all tie together a little better.

trele6-Audit sims in beckers are so much easier than the actual ones I had. I thought I was prepared to tackle SIMS after completing becker's sim and becker's final review sims. I scored 3 comparable and 3 stronger in MCQs and yet still managed to fail this section. Maybe, I didnt get my research question right. What was weird about my research question was that I found 2 identical paragraphs in the same subsection that was clearly what the question was asking for. I was very confused and may have picked the one that was not pre-set as a correct answer. Maybe I can appeal for it… who knows…

I failed with 4x stronger, 1 comparative 1 weaker and weaker sims. total snafu on the sims on my end.

I failed AUD with 5 comparable and 1 stronger in MCQs, weaker in Sims.

The SIMs were easy and tricky. Idk how did I fail. I even think that they failed me on purpose because I took exams too fast (2 weeks after FAR). Sad.

The try before passing audit, I received a 74 with 3 stronger, 3 comparable and weaker in SIMS. The time before that I got 4 stronger, 1 comparable, 1 weaker and weaker in SIMS. FAR is the only section I have ever got better than weaker in sims and still failed.

I wondered about that too. I couldn't even believe that I scored on 64 both times, I took AUD again on 2/6/2017 and I felt pretty good about it. I definitely knew more and practiced more for the second time, so frustrated that the scores came out the same. Something is not right. Guess they won't let you pass if you are weaker in sims. How crazy…
