[CPA so close, so far away]

Has anyone else experienced problems lately with orders from Becker? I ordered my audit textbook, and they say it is on back order. I feel as though this is unacceptable, as every second without my materials is wasted study times. Curious to see if anyone else is struggling with this problem. Thanks.

They told me the same thing with respect to the financial textbook and my exam is scheduled for early May. I'm going to call them later to check the status as I ordered it last week.

I went through the same. I ordered a new REG book and paid $15.90 and it has been 12 days and I still do not have it. Horrible customer service. How do you not have your only physical asset in stock?

I called yesterday and they told me to order the new book online after logging in since it is “super easy”. I swear I have clicked on every icon in the site with no luck. Anyone ordered a book this way successfully?

I ordered a new book last night for Reg for 16-or-so dollars.The order went through but not sure if it will be delivered on time. When did you guys hear that it was on back order?

Also, just checked eBay to see if anyone was selling the new book. People are selling FOR 170 DOLLARS AND ABOVE. So annoying that people do this kind of crap.

I get how paying 3000+ for a course and not getting things on time can be frustrating.

But in the grand scheme of things has any of the testable material changed? Just the format…So using your old books should not be much of an issue.

That's odd. I ordered my FAR 2017 book online yesterday, it cost $15, and I got an email this morning saying it was already shipped out.

logged into my account
clicked on overview
on the right there's a button that says textbook updates
I chose Financial V3.0 Replacement – it says “should be used for exam dates scheduled after March 31, 2017”
Add it to my cart
click on my cart at the top of the screen
check out with my credit card

I did notice that the site was abnormally slow. Maybe they are having issues with a lot of volume on their server?

I am ordering Audit for the first time. Therefore, I do not have an old version.

I never had issues with getting my books. But I purchased the software over month before I planned on using it. It took probably 2 or 3 weeks for it to arrive.
Their customer service needs serious help. I was down to the final weeks of studying and my software crashed. The reinstall gave me 2017 version and I spent at least an hour trying to get 2016 back before emailing support. It said 48 hours turnaround time. I waited 4 days and nothing. I sent an e-mail saying I haven't received a response and a day later they got back to me. It was like gee thanks – now I've wasted 5 VERY IMPORTANT DAYS of study time trying to figure out other software plus the time I lost messing around with my crashed software…VERY PRECIOUS TIME wasted!!!

Ended up with a 73 on that exam. If I was the type to play blame games, I would say it's Becker's fault I didn't pass because certainly if I had those good 5 days I could have pulled out an extra 2 points for a pass. Think if I contacted the company and said that, they would give me a free extension of software for the retake? HEHE

Anyway…how annoying 🙁 Sorry you're having problems getting the books. There's an online version of the book in the software. I know it's reading on a computer but at least you can progess?

I called customer service this morning where I was told they were experiencing higher call volumes. My initial wait time was quoted as over 25 mins. An hour and one minute into the call a system notification informed me they were experiencing system difficulties and couldn't take my call right now please call back later and the call was ended. Not the 1st time they, whether system or human, has hung up on me. Last time I was charged twice for my updated book, still trying to get reimbursed for that.

And now I shall add trying to get reimbursed for my purchase today, they charged me both the Becker Promise amount as well as the normal amount for 2 classes – $2400 and change! Fantastic! So yeah, just make sure you check your statements.

how do you guys order the books? don't you just have to go to the delayed shipping section and click redeem? i didn't have to pay anything?

Samething happened to me. They said I didn't hit the redeem button for the book to be shipped. I was so pissed because I didn't see that option when I ordered the book.

Same thing in regards to my order of the Audit V3 textbook. They notified me that it had been shipped and the order status is “completed” on their website, but I just found out from the carrier today (3/23) that they never received the package which I ordered on 3/14. I understand that they're backordered because probably every candidate is scrambling for these books last minute, including myself. I'm more so upset that Becker never notified me that the book was backordered, and even sent a shipment confirmation.

I also had no idea that we were able to redeem a free copy of the book. I think this might also be part of the reason Becker is backordered – most people weren't aware that Becker is holding a copy for them so they ordered on the website, and now Becker is essentially holding a book that won't get redeemed and are short all this inventory.

But anyway, does anyone know how quickly they will be back in stock? Has anyone actually received their book yet, and how long did it take from when you ordered ?
