    You need to contact CBA.

Probably shouldn't plan your courses or something as important as meeting requirements based on public forum advice.

    Thanks MCLKT,

i actually did call…and they approved my calculus courses, and there is no limit to how many math units i can use.

In addition, although my statistics class is STATS13 FOR life science majors, that class also still counts.

Now i just need to focus on accounting. Thanks

A little off topic…but..Seirously? I didn't think they pre-approved classes! Im finishing up my accounting requirements in May, hoping to start exams in August and have some serious anxiety about having one of my accounting courses disqualified for some stupid state of CA reason. So you just call them and they will verify if the classes are acceptable?

    That's right FlipACoin! 🙂

I started thinking this way right out of high school:

Always, have your end goal in mind, then confirm the requirements from start to finish.

I did this with college courses, making sure before I even enrolled in Junior College, that all of the credits would transfer to the 4 year school I intended to finish up at. There are always people complaining that they did all of this work, and what not, then get mad at the regulatory body (College, State Board, etc.) when they don't qualify. When in reality, you just have to be proactive and make sure you understand the requirements before you begin.

We're lucky, CBA is very helpful. Call the exam unit with any questions you have. And feel free to call the licensing unit to make sure you have your “ducks in a row” when it comes to the point of licensing. I called when I first started the process to confirm testing requirements vs licensing requirements. And then called again to get details on the 2014 changes.

I can't imagine the disappointment in going through the motions, passing the exam, and doing what you “think” is required only to find out… wrong. Not qualified.

    🙂 I hope this is helpful 🙂

MCLKT..Thanks for your thoughts! I have definitely reviewed and re-reviewed the CPA candidate book and I'm pretty darn positive that all of my classes work but right in the middle of the education section they say “Due to time constraints we do not pre-approve classes!”. Perhaps they just meant they don't “formally” pre-approve classes. This is very helpful I'm going to set my mind at ease this week. Thanks again, and congrats on kicking some recent AUD butt 🙂

Anyone know if Physics courses can be used to fulfill ‘Business-Related Subjects'?

I just spoke to a lovely lady at the CBA, but she couldn't confirm my Physics units(or even my Calculus units), and suggested that I have the transcripts sent to them for review. That will take some time(and money) to process and I'd really like to know before I start applying for positions. I'd imagine that I'd have a much better shot landing a job if I was 3 units from fulfilling the requirement as opposed to 12+.

Also, does anyone have any experience appealing the review of a transcript? She was pretty vague about that as well.

Am I way off base thinking that Physics will count as a math class the same way Calculus counts?
