Which part to take after FAR & AUD? BEC or REG and why. Thanks in advance.

I’m contemplating which of these two sections, BEC or REG, to study next (completed FAR & AUD).

At first I thought and planned to take care of REG before BEC, but now looking at the issue more carefully I start realizing that REG being far removed from FAR/AUD/BEC that perhaps it should be taken last (or first, but it is too late for me already) after all other sections completed.

That do you guys think? would appreciate your input, thanks in advance.

I thought there was some good overlap from AUD to BEC with the IT stuff. I originally planned to take BEC last but, because I required more study time for REG (doing REG in 10 weeks vs. BEC in 6) and because of some travel requirements for work, I swapped BEC and REG around to give myself more time to complete REG.

Now that I've been through the material on all 4 exams, I'd say the order of BEC and REG is really not that important. I don't think I would have recognized a huge benefit one way or the other… slight edge to BEC before REG because IT overlap from AUD but definitely not a gamechanger.

    AUD - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    BEC - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    REG - 2013 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES + NINJA AUDIO)

@mdrobbin, thanks for your explanation. Perhaps I schedule REG before BEC especially in the light that my busy season begins in summer and I better utilize quiet time to tackle REG.

Definitely. I don't know if you are using the Wiley Test Bank but, if you are, take a look at how many available MCQ's there are for each of BEC and REG. If I remember correctly, BEC was just under 700 and REG is definitely over 1,000 although I haven't dug into the Test Bank yet (still on the textbook MCQ's).

The volume of questions for REG and duration of videos when compared to BEC will tell the story of which will require more time.

Granted, if you work in tax, REG might be a breeze for some people. I'm definitely not one of those people, though. I took one tax course in college and that was over 6 years ago so this has been painful.

    AUD - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)

    REG - 2013 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES + NINJA AUDIO)

I'd say REG, as BEC seems to hit on the prior 3 sections, so as you read, all the prior topics in FAR, AUD, & REG are not out of left field where you feel you have to look them up to see what they're talking about…

    my … $0.02 🙂

However, mdrobbin does have a point if you have any time constraints, then you should weigh out based on time.

    FAR - 7/16/2012 *76 : 2.5mo [Exp. 1/2014]
    AUD - 8/31/2012 *82 : 1mo
    REG - 11/27/2012 *83 : 2.5mo
    BEC - 2/27/2013 *80 : 2.5mo LET'S DO THIS!!!
    Ethics - 3/13
