Week 12:

Getting back on track this week, I’ve been slacking in the CPA Exam studying department a bit and not progressing as fast as I should. It seems I’m almost on the same track as Allyson is with BEC. I finished with Corporate Governance and IT, and now moving on, to Economics and it’s back to watching videos again. I read the Wiley book for the first 2 chapters and I’m ready for some facetime with Yaeger CPA Review instructor Cindy Simpson.

BEC is scheduled for the end of February which is giving me a good 6 more weeks to study, so I feel like as long as I pick it up a little bit I’ll have logged enough hours and MCQ’ed the topics to death by then. I want to make sure I do every MCQ at least once, preferably more, and I’ll also go back to the Wiley 2010 BEC book for some MCQ’s too, just to cover everything. This is really where I feel I fell off on FAR is not doing enough MCQ’s, so I want to hit it hard and early this time around.

Another little wrinkle I’ve added into my study strategy is to rewrite Jeff’s Ninja notes for the particular topic I’m covering and I’m doing well so far with 90% on Corporate and 80% on IT MCQ’s, so I feel I’ve got a good strategy, I just need to work not faster, but put more time in so that it doesn’t get to 5 days before test day and I’m not scoring what I need to.

Economics here I come.
