Focus on REG Means No Turkey for Thanksgiving

Studying for REG is going! One minute it is going well and the next minute it’s not going so well. I watch the lectures and it makes perfect sense when Roger says it.

It seems so easy when he works the problems, but when I try to work a problem, I get so confused and irritated at myself.

This has got to be the most frustrating process in the world. Between trick questions, massive quantities of information and the score release process, I’m beginning to think I was crazy to ever want to be a CPA. But then I calm down and realize that I really do want this and I go back to the books.

I’ve been working MCQ’s like crazy, and my scores are all over the chart. One quiz I do well in Business Law and fail tax and another quiz I bomb Business Law and score 100% on corporate tax. I feel like I’m losing my mind sometimes.

I have one more day of work and then I am in full time, all day and all night, study mode. I have watched all of the lectures, and I couldn’t even begin to tell anyone how many questions I have already worked.

My goal is to get 90% or better on every 72 question quiz on the Wiley Online Test Bank. If I see that there is a module that I’m not doing well in I’m going to go back to Roger CPA Review and watch the lectures over until I get that 90%.

There will be no turkey in my house on Thanksgiving. My husband has forbidden me to buy one. Normally I wouldn’t tolerate him “forbidding” anything but his heart is in the right place so I’ll let him get away with it for now.

He has also made plans to be out of the house as much as possible until Saturday night which is really sweet of him. I leave Sunday and will be staying in a hotel for 3 days before my rematch with REG.

I will be tweeting my progress to keep me accountable and to keep my family from worrying about me. If you would like to help hold my butt accountable follow me on twitter at @kmitchell0513.

Good Luck everyone and congrats to those who already have passing scores, JoMarie! To those who didn’t pass, Just Keep Moving Forward! The only way to fail is to quit!
