On Tuesday afternoon I took my first exam, and it was an experience. I was almost late because I thought I would be smart and take the route that has less traffic. Of course that was the way that was longer.
It didnt even dawn on me that I would be on the road at 11. What traffic was I going to hit?
Thats the kind of thinking that goes along with my outing to get cat food that took me 2 trips to accomplish. All Ive been thinking about is the exam.
I had scheduled REG as my first exam a month or so ago. I had just come off finishing the tax season, so I thought it would be good idea and easy transition. For those of you not in tax, theres a big difference between knowing what screen to enter the numbers in and knowing how to calculate those numbers.
I had been studying more on the calculations than the theory, but I didnt think I had slacked as much as it felt. A topic that I thought was small and that they couldnt possibly come up with a bunch of questions was what seemed like all the questions came from. Im sure thats skewed quite a bit since Im sure we all remember those questions that make you go hmmm much more than the ones that dont.
I am very glad I spent my weekend with Roger and used the Roger CPA Review Cram to make sure I hit a lot of the important topics. A cram is a great way to focus your energies.
So after spending my afternoon next to someone who was up and down and bouncing (I wonder what he was getting tested on) I will wait for my scores. I wont be focusing too much on waiting for score release.
I have AUD scheduled in just a few short weeks and the amount of work that has piled on my desk is very daunting. I guess its back to the real world of study, family and work. Not necessarily in that order.
Happy studying all and good luck!
