PASS on Regulation + Preparing for BEC

Score pending.

Score pending.

Score pending!

I think if I log on to my account and see ‘score pending’ one more time, I’m going to lose it! Waiting for scores does not get any easier the more exams you take.

I was lucky enough to not have to wait until the end of the window for all my exams, so I’m not sure how that would’ve play into my ever eroding sanity. Suffice it to say, waiting is for the birds!

I do have some good news! I squeaked by a pass on REG. It was great seeing that pass for the first section I had taken. Not so great was the not-pass on AUD that was posted at the same time. Having both post the same day really tempered the extremes of emotions. I was left with more of a sense of relief knowing my scores than any emotional yo-yoing.

Spending some time dissecting what was different between the two without beating yourself up is a task itself. A few major things stick out quickly. First, I am a tax person. I am of the strange breed that the arbitrary limits and other government imposed details of this exam are a non-issue. That being said, I am not an auditor. Somewhere along the line, I missed having to even take an auditing class.

Lastly, the big difference that might explain a lot is the fact that I got the Roger CPA Review Cram for REG and not AUD. There goes my plan to save a few bucks! So, with BEC, I’m doing an experiment. I went ahead and got the cram for BEC. It won’t be a completely fair comparison if I don’t pass since I had so much work and life junk going on while I was studying for BEC. Hopefully, it will prove a successful experiment in the next few days when I stop seeing ‘score pending.’

I don’t know about you, but while I am waiting for a score, it’s really hard to concentrate on studying. I do have to snap out of it, I have FAR scheduled on January 4th and am way behind schedule on working MCQ’s. I think I will be ordering the Roger CPA Cram as soon as I hit the send button! Good luck to everyone still waiting for scores. Congrats for those that passed. And a whole-hearted “We’ll get ‘em next time” for those that didn’t.
