Hello everyone! I hope all my fellow future CPAs have started their new year off with the same attitude that I have: 2012 is the year I am going to be a CPA!

The journey toward this prestigious title as many of us share is tough, but after finally conquering my nemesis BEC, I feel like nothing can stop me now.

Even though the process of studying and earning the BEC credit cost me my REG credit and landed me in the ER with a herniated disk – my own fault for studying for almost six to seven hours on a backless stool – I am determined not to lose this BEC credit.

I feel as if my next challenge is FAR. I sat for it twice previously and came shy a few points. The SIMS are my weak areas. I took FAR again in January but struggled with the SIMS again. So now I wait for a miracle, but time is of essence right now so I am changing gears and getting ready to face AUDIT in February.

I have sat for Audit before and failed by five points. Compared to the other sections, I don’t feel that the material for audit is as hard to understand, but the challenge lies in staying awake during the lectures. So when I sat down and started watching Roger CPA Review, I was pleasantly surprised. I found myself not only engaged and listening attentively but felt secretly jealous of all the energy he emits.

I also liked the fact that when he moved on to the next chapter, her spent a few minutes reviewing the previous chapter. I think this is extremely helpful and refreshes one’s memory before trying to understand the next topic. Overall, watching the lectures wasn’t as torturous as I had imagined, and now I am moving on to the homework.

Keep working hard, don’t give up, and keep repeating “2012 is the year I will be a CPA!”
