AUD: 20 Days to Prepare

It’s still slow going studying for Audit using Roger’s CPA review for me. I’m on Audit 3 now. I rescheduled my test for July 25th. It was originally scheduled for the 11th, but there was no way that was possible.

I did okay this weekend considering it was a holiday weekend. I probably did 100 MCQs from Saturday-Monday. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but the audit MCQs just kill me.

The FAR ones actually seem easier!! They don’t have any calculations, but the wording is so tricky.

This week I am going to hit the books hard, and I need to finish all of Audit-3 and hopefully even start Audit-4. I have no plans for the weekend so I plan to get in some studying on the weekend too.

I also spend a little time this weekend looking through the July 1st changes and I discovered that Audit is not affected by these changes. WHEW, dodged a bullet on that one! That is one less thing I have to worry about.

Is anyone else a little surprised about the metal detector wands that they are going to have at the Prometric centers now? I guess I think the security is pretty strong between pictures, finger prints, etc…

Also, the waiting time to get into a test has been increasing since I first started taking the tests (which was embarrassing long ago). The last time I took a test, it took about 20 minutes for me to get checked in (there were two people in line before me).

I just think it’s really overkill to add one more thing to an already very secure process. I know that it kind of frustrates me when I have to wait a long time to get into the test.

This weekend I also paid for my next FAR NTS. I am really motivated to kill that test this time!! I was pretty close last time, but FAR is really hard for me because I get so overwhelmed by the depth of the material and I always end up giving up near the end and not doing a good review or as many MCQs as I should. I totally burn out!

This time will be different! I’m trying to decide whether to go with Roger or Becker CPA review. I don’t have a FAR review program for 2011. I have Roger for AUD and I’m enjoying it, plus it’s cheaper, so I might just go with that.

Well, time to get back to studying. Happy studying!!
