Great Expectations for Audit Study

Tana is a weekly Another71 Facebook blogger as she documents her journey through the CPA Exam.

Well, I am steadily getting ready for the exam.  I am through audit module # 4 of Roger CPA Review.  I just need to get the multiple choice questions done for 4 and watch and do the multiple choice questions for module 5.

I then plan to read the entire Wiley book.  Well not the whole book. I don’t plan on reading the sections in the back.

But I do plan to read the information before the multiple choice questions, read Roger’s review book, do the multiple choice and task based questions, then watch the videos again.

I also want to do the online questions from the AICPA and the Wiley disk that came with the Roger CPA Review course.

These are great expectations that I hope to meet in the last three days of my study time before the test. ??I am having problems with managing my time.  I have found that I don’t study so well first thing in the morning.  But I have daycare during that time, so I have been trying to force myself to study then, and that is not working out for me.   I can't concentrate, I’m tired, and the information does not stick.

So I modified my thinking.  I changed things up and am staying up really late, about 2 or 3 in the morning, to study after my son goes to bed, then I get up before 7, take him to daycare, run errands, then nap for about an hour or so, then when I get up I am able to concentrate and the info sticks.  That that seems to be working well.

The only problem I see that I may have is studying on the exam day. I have scheduled the test for 1:30 so I will have some study time before the test, but I don't want to stay up all night before the exam.  I guess I will cross that bridge when it gets here.

This time next week it will be over and all I will have to do is the waiting game for the results.  Wish me luck…???

If you only have a few days left before the test, I'd focus on answering questions instead of reading the Wiley and Roger books. You could keep track of a certain topic you are struggling with and then maybe skim the book to brush up on it. Good luck!

You and I are in the same boat. Studying for audit, trying to figure out if the best time to do it is during precious daycare hours or at night. Hang in there and thank you for your post!
