Hello all my future CPAs! Last week was my first week (for the 3rd time) studying for FAR, and I have got to say it was a pretty productive week.

I knew I had to really crack down on my studying habits since I am attempting FAR in about 5 weeks. I got through Far-1 & FAR-2 using Roger CPA Review for the first time.

Usually listening to the lectures is the most brutal part of studying for me, mostly because I have a horrible attention span, as well as financial accounting not being the most interesting topic in the world. But with Roger they felt a lot less painful.

He is so energetic that it makes it a lot more interesting to watch, but he also seems to have a way of explaining things that really help make harder topics make a lot more sense.

The other thing I liked about the online lectures was that they were broken down into short segments. I didn't run into one lecture over 30 minutes. Granted, the short segments add up to about 3 to 4 hours per section, but it is a lot less menacing when pressing the play button.

The most helpful thing that I picked up this week that I hadn't done in the past was read the answer to each question in the homework whether I got it right or wrong. Sometimes I get questions right on luck and don't take the time to see why they are right, which always nips me in the butt later!!

Even with all my studying, I still managed to take a much needed night out with some friends and a movie with my niece and nephew. This week is going to be rough as I plan to tackle my two worst topics: Bonds & Pensions!
