Geez…I can't wait to get this done. I use Becker and it seems like I am doing well. I take 90 question progress tests and score around 85-91 on them.
Is there anything else i can do to prepare? Is it true chapter 3-4 are the most heavily tested?
ThanksJanuary 14, 2015 at 3:49 pm #642972AnonymousInactive
@cbones1979, it looks like we are in an almost identical situation! Audit is my last part also, and I am scheduled for 1/20. My nerves have kicked in big time….
I intentially left Audit for last as I knew it was the least voluminous. I am scoring very well in the Wiley TB, however; the thought of failing this last section is stressing me out.January 14, 2015 at 4:31 pm #642973tami3492Participant
I'm right there with both of you. I take AUD on 2/2. I am so ready to just be done. I am currently finishing up chapter 5. The first section of chapter 5 kicked my butt, so I know I am going to have to go back and review that. I take 20-30 question progress tests after I finsh up each chapter and I am usually in the mid to low 80'sJanuary 14, 2015 at 4:49 pm #642974AnonymousInactive
The only tips I was give was:
Know the parts of the different reports
Know the opinions
Know the Assertions
Isn't it just a modified if it isn't unmodified and then it is specifically either a qualified or adverse?January 14, 2015 at 5:17 pm #642975AnonymousInactive
@cbones1979, I had the same question when I first started studying. When I took auditing back in 2007, the terms “qualified” and “unqualified” were used. From my perspective “modified” and “unmodified” mean the exact same thing, i.e.
unqualified = unmodified
qualified = modified
If anyone else would like to correct me or chime in, please feel free 🙂January 14, 2015 at 6:48 pm #642976AnonymousInactive
That is what I thought and I am preparing for. However, the becker lectures have said “qualified” opinion numerous times.
My luck, I will get a question that gives me an option for modified or qualified and it still isn't made clear.
Even searching the web hasn't led me to anything concrete.January 14, 2015 at 7:14 pm #642977NoraUMember
This is what my Wiley book says:
A standard unqualified audit report is issued by CPAs when their examination and the results thereof
are satisfactory. This report has an opinion referred to as “unmodifed” in the AICPA and international standards, while
referred to in the PCAOB standards as “unqualified.”
I am in the same situation as you guys – last exam. I thought it would be “shortest” and “sweetest”. No such luck….January 14, 2015 at 7:26 pm #642978AnonymousInactive
I am putting in more time on this one than the last 3. I am hoping that helps. I think that pieces of the other 3 show up in AUD so there is a little overlap.
2 hours a night seems to nearly assure success on these exams for me.January 14, 2015 at 7:29 pm #642979
im taking it tomorrow, but i still have REG for the end of February, i wish this was my last exam. im so nervous and i have done over 6,000 questions for this partJanuary 14, 2015 at 7:34 pm #642980NoraUMember

jstay, def let me know how you fare.January 14, 2015 at 10:29 pm #642986
will do, should have an update sometime this weekend. I'm coming home tomorrow and starting REG which is scheduled for 2/26 so that will require a lot studying.
Right now, im feeling pretty down about this exam tomorrow. I am reading my book and feel like nothing makes sense. I read A3 & A4 today and will give A5 a good look over later. I am trending 79% in ninja and have 2,400 question attempts..only 150 not seen. I have also went through becker twice so idk what else i can do. i wonder if i just got good at picking out the answers and didnt learn the actual material but everyone always says MCQ until your eyes bleed so that was my plan. I just feel like im going to see a 72 or something like that on score release day.
I have 5 chances to get through AUD and REG before FAR expires so hopefully i can pull out two passes in between those 10 attempts..January 15, 2015 at 5:21 pm #642987
Same post as AUD experience thread but here it is
I don't know what to think. MCQ were “fair” felt like i knew a lot, guessed on some hopefully some are throw away. Sims were blah, who really knows. One i found easily in the AL so that im pretty sure is 100, research im 85% sure i found what they were asking so thats another potential 100. Another one i knew most of hopefully thats atleast 65 (conservative estimate), another one had 8 boxes so i did the best i could (conservative estimate maybe 40). there was a FAR sim that i think i got 75/80 on so hopefully thats not the throw away one, there was another one with some kind of FAR like properties on it but also had AUD like boxes in it so conservative guess would be another 40 and then there was an AUD one where i feel like a conservative guess would be 50. however these are conservative guesses, hopefully i am just underestimating myself and maybe got 10 pts higher on the ones that i wasnt sure of. I do believe i atleast got some partial credit on all of them. Hate to say it but the Sims were better then expected.
Now the wait begins as does studying for REGJanuary 15, 2015 at 6:52 pm #642988AnonymousInactive
@jstay, I have my exam on the 20th. It will be a long wait until the 5th of Feb for both of us…..January 16, 2015 at 6:58 pm #642989AnonymousInactiveJanuary 16, 2015 at 7:22 pm #642990
I can honestly say I saw a little bit of everything. one thing to note is to not stop studying. By this I mean study up until you fall asleep the night before. I was reading my text the day before and I there a few questions I got that I probably would have had to guess on had I not read over that materialJanuary 16, 2015 at 7:23 pm #642991
I also feel like MCQ never got harderJanuary 20, 2015 at 7:06 pm #642992AnonymousInactive
Don't worry jstay, i won't let you down. I'm currently logged as approaching 230 hours (lectures/mcq/review tests) before my exam. I study the last 5 days for the exams around 6+ hours a day and I take the Becker final review tests each 2 times. I study notecards and trouble spots up to the second I walk in the prometric's door to go into test.
What did you get on the aud final review exams?January 22, 2015 at 10:20 pm #642993
@cbones1979 i think i got a 69 and a 72but i dont really remember. all i know is that on my final exam the second one i got the research question right and it marked it wrong so after i recalculated that grade with a 100% on the research it was a 72January 23, 2015 at 6:37 am #642994TuxMember
cbones – You originally asked if there was anything else that you can do to prepare…..
A fresh set of questions would really test your knowledge, and could help you catch any weak areas.
Just a thought.
Or, if you feel comfortable with it, go ahead and reschedule the test sooner.
Good luck!January 23, 2015 at 3:20 pm #642995AnonymousInactive
My apologies, I haven't taken the practice exams yet. Those are scheduled for Feb 12th-15th.
My study pattern has been pretty rigid for the first 3 exams. I'm on my 2nd turn of redoing each chapters questions. I have chapter 5 and 6 to redo all questions and then I go back and redo all the marked questions for each section again. My last week leading up to the exam I do progress tests covering each section while printing out all the ones I got wrong. Those get a more detailed look the next day during lunch.
I was looking to do the AICPA practice exam but the site is down. Also, does anyone have the link for the recently released exam questions for AUD?
