FAR – Exam Experience

Took FAR almost a week ago. I studied extremely hard as this was my first section and was scoring in the 80%-90% in the progress tests and homeworks for Becker. I felt VERY prepared for the exam.

I left the testing center completely demoralized! My 1st testlet was doable but my second and third testlets were noticeably harder. They covered the “minutia” and the questions seemed to be very wordy with more than one calculation. I probably flagged 6 in both the 2nd and 3rd testlet.

I got to the sims and flipped through each tab and was about to quit the exam. I had to scroll down in almost all of them with all the information they gave and they were all very very vague. I’m pretty sure I got the research question, but after that it’s a toss up. I finished all of the tabs but I guessed with most of my answers. It seems like most people have a similar experience, but I didn’t expect to leave the testing center this demoralized.

Wow. It really seems like I've heard a fair amount of horror stories about FAR in this testing window. Definitely freaking me out for mine on 5/28…

would you recommend focusing study on any particular areas last minute?

I took this twice and both tests were completely different. Just make sure you don't skip anything.

I used Becker, some WTB questions, NINJA notes. I did not see anything that wasn't familiar. The SIMs were a nightmare because they were on very obscure topics.
