Hello guys. I am back again. I have absolutely loved coming to this forum for motivation, and advice.
I took REG yesterday, December 17 and for the first time in my CPA journey, I thought the exam was fair.
My review time was a pain, and a struggle. Taxation is my weakest area so I saved it for last thinking I would have the motivation to study and get it done. I was so wrong. Every day was a struggle. I had to reschedule the exam just to get through the material.
I used Gleim to study, and made a 64 on my mock exam. I was like, even with the 10 point jump, I will be failing this exam…..I studied all the chapters again and it was exam day.
MCQs – Testlet 1 started nicely but quickly got dicey. I knew what the questions were asking but I didn’t know how to answer them right.
Testlet 2 – In my opinion, the questions got easier. There were so many questions I was not sure of that I got tired of flagging. I did my best, rechecked my answers and moved on.
TBS – At this point, I became so chill; I was like the AICPA has been really fair to me for this exam. I just do not know this well enough. They tested familiar concepts and I did not see too many curveballs.
I finished with like 40 minutes left on my clock. I really did my best and moved on.
Normally, I would be panicked and super stressed but guys, I am so Zen and chill. We will see what score release day brings. If I have to study again, no shaking or stress, I will do it again, no fault to the AICPA guys on this one.
Advice- If you are studying for REG, and you are having a tough time. Please do not worry. Study well, practice MCQs and DO your SIMS!!You will be fine.
This will be a nice holiday for me. I have been studying for all the exams since March, and I am grateful for a break.
Thank you guys. You can do it. I believe in you!!!!

Thanks for sharing! Currently going through REG (my last section) and it's horrid. Definitively the worst section of the 3 as it's not very intuitive and I feel much of the material is straight memorization.

I had similar experience for REG. I couldn't really gauge which testlet was harder on the MC. Felt like easy and hard ones mixed together the whole time. And yes those 78 MCQ really drags on. It was my first exam so I feared the worst on the SIMs but after seeing them breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed. Finished with plenty of time, even after re-checking my answers multiple times on the last few SIMs. You should celebrate now because I am 99.9% sure you passed the CPA exam!

Always good to get motivation. I'm slogging through it. I've got a good test prep this time (UWorld Roger), but am getting distracted lately. It's good to hear that the test was fair. I'm hoping it's reflective of the material we all studied and is similar to what is shown on the MCQ's, etc. that are featured on the reviews. Keep at it!

I took the REG exam at the end of October 2020. I also felt like it was very fair. I expected the second testlet to be harder than the first (like how FAR was), but it felt similar to the first testlet. I then got very worried, but after I sat for the exam I searched forums and found many others had felt this way, so that was a relief! I left the exam with well over 40 minutes left, which in comparison to FAR I submitted the exam with one minute remaining.
I used UWorld Roger's CPA review for REG and I felt like they did a very good job preparing me for the exam. I felt familiar with the majority of the questions asked and didn't feel blindsided by much at all. Unfortunately, I didn't spend enough time on the TBS simulation practice, so when it came to the actual exam, I struggled to locate the numbers I needed in the document review sims. I ended up getting a 73, so close!!! I'm getting ready to sit for the exam again in a couple of weeks (our testing center was completely booked for months!). I've spent much more time practicing the TBSs, so I'm hoping I crush it this time around. Good luck with your studies everyone!
