1933 and 1934 Securities Acts… summary of differences?

    For some reason I’ve never been able to nail these this down. Back in grad school (looong time ago), I remember our audit book had a fabulous chart/table comparing the two and summarizing the key differences (i.e. purpose, who can sue, accountant liability and defenses, etc.).

    Unfortunately, the textbook is long gone – pretty sure I sold it for cash (poor college student!) as soon as the semester was over.

    Does anyone know where I can find a similar summary? Anywhere on the web? Google has disappointed thus far…

    This seems like a very obscure thing to ask. I wouldn't waste my time memorizing the differences.

    FAR 7/11/16 - 87
    BEC 9/9/16
    REG TBD
    AUD TBD

    Thanks @Amor D!!

    @BenB
    – why do you say that? Considering the amount of questions I see on the topic and the fact that BLAW is 40% of my score, I think it's pretty important to know 🙂

    You're welcome, TXC!
    You'll be surprised how many random questions you can get just with 1933 and 1934 topics alone. It can range between 5-10 and it's painful to miss those easy questions because you cannot get these two sections straight without mastering this simple table.

    Thank you so much for this image (if you even check this forum anymore)! I'm having so much trouble with the differences and I keep getting the questions wrong. Hopefully this will help me nail each of them down.

    I think it's important to know the differences, but I agree, there are n SIMS on this, and the MCQs are straightforward. HOwever, if you consistently getting those questions wrong, there is nothing wrong with reviewing the chart!
