I was preparing for AUD & almost took it, but after getting a 70 & 73 in mock exams, I didn’t take it. Also, I wanted to prepare for the FAR questions asked in AUD exam. That was the situation in January & after tax season started, I have been busy at work. Now the thought that I have to start all over with AUD hits me hard & though I want to start studying, just can’t get myself to do it.

    BEC - < than 75, 10/2013
    AUD - < than 75, 8/2015, 1/2016

    Yikes.
I would have sat for the test regardless of the 70 and 73 on the mock exams.
Now you're stuck in the waiting 3 months for a score release nightmare.

It's just that this is not my 1st attempt & didn't want to attempt another time especially when there were so many areas in which I was not strong. Moreover, the mock exams had only AUD questions. I had about 3 FAR sims in my previous AUD attempts & felt that I had to prepare thoroughly in that as well. Just could not continue with reviewing once tax season started. Yes, I do know that one can never be fully prepared for these exams.

The good thing is that recently when I took a set of 20 questions in Gleim book, I missed only one. Also, the reason I got the question wrong was because I chose the wrong option, though I knew the right answer. Hope that makes sense. Trying desperately to get into study mode & pass my very 1st section.

Honestly there's so much variance in the exam that if you at least know something about every topic, you have a good chance of passing imo. Otoh AUD is the one section designed to ensnare you with perverse subtleties if you don't have a solid grasp of the basics.

@calvinus: That's true. In January, I did reach the point of knowing the basics thoroughly & gaining the ability of sieving through side tracking & misleading options & seeing the correct answer just float up. Hopefully at this point, I remember most of the concepts, if not all. But as you said, if not sure of some concepts, it can change the equation. I was still getting some questions wrong & without preparing for the FAR part, I didn't dare to take the exam in January.
