    Hey, everyone.

I guess this is one more sob story to go along with the rest but I have auditing on the 27th, this upcoming Saturday. This past Saturday, a week out from exam day, my internet stopped working meaning I couldn’t utilize Ninja MCQ. Just now, on Monday, I got my internet back although I probably wouldn’t have been studying that much even if I had internet because I also have a sinus infection, which I have also had before FAR. It seems getting sick right before an exam never fails! Now that I’m on an antibiotic, steroid pack, and allergy meds, life is beginning to come back into my body and I’m realizing how unprepared I feel for this exam. I have been working Ninja MCQ for AUD for quite some time now and felt pretty confident up until these past couple absent days.

I have 313 questions left in Ninja that I haven’t seen and 576 that I have not answered correctly. My average is 77% and trending is 82.17%. How should I go about getting the most out of my study time before my Saturday exam? All tips are welcomed. I also plan on utilizing Ninja SIMS but not that many, maybe 1 or 2 per day. I’d really like to get my trending score up some more but I’m not sure how. I also feel pretty scatterbrained and not incredibly prepared on any specific topic within AUD so I’m needing help!

Also, how do you all study when you’re sick and feeling flat out tired and foggy minded. I’m definitely not back to myself but I have to start studying again!

I would utilize Ninja Progress Reports to see which sections you need to review more. Otherwise, just keep doing the MCQ and I would do more than 1 or 2 SIMS, it helped me get over my anxiety-use those as review/study tools as well! Good luck!

You're actually in pretty good shape with 5 days left. Finish strong and kill this retake. I hope you feel better.

I spent the weekend before my Audit test in the French Quarter at my nephew's bachelor party. I almost failed so I wouldn't recommend that preparation method.

Shake it off and get back in there! All I can say from my REG retake on Sunday is that the intensity of the exam seems to be ratcheted up. Definitely when I got to the SIMS I felt like they were shooting real bullets at me!!!

Thanks, everyone. I seem to be feeling better although I can tell my reasoning skills within the AUD material is not as good as it normally is. Hopefully, I am out of this fog once I sit for the exam.

WannaBeTXCPA, forgive me for I am not well educated on the new exam format, but does REG have only 2 MCQ testlets like AUD? Are they adaptive like the 3 testlets were in the old exam? Do you think the sims are more comprehensive, meaning you need a deeper level of understanding than normal to answer them compared to the old format?

    Hi scared_cpa,

I'm just sending some good juju in your direction. I'm sure you'll do well.

Do NOT quit! There's more in you and if you quit you'll never see it. Show you that you can do it.

    AUD Passed  78
    BEC Passed  79
    FAR Passed  77
    REG Passed 76

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

scared CPA: relax, you're thinking too much. if you're ready now, you're ready, if you're not, you're not. That's why I like practice quizzes/exams right before exam day, if you do poorly you may consider rescheduling. No crime in that

    AUD - 84
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 80
    REG - 85
Took the long way, but I got there

AUD is a tough section because it is very subtle and different shades of gray to the answers. One of the advantages of AUD is that it can be summarized in one big Audit picture from the engagement letter to the audit report. The AUD exam is certainly lots of memorization and it was the only section that I used flash cards to study for in my preparation.

If I were you I would go to the AICPA website and review the CPA exam Blueprint. This document tells you all the topics covered on the exam from the examiner's themselves. Go and find the AUD section and write down all the topics.

Check off the ones you are comfortable with and then identify the ones you need to cover. This will give you a good idea of what you know.

But a fact of life with the CPA exam is that you will get off the wall questions. You just need to use your skills to answer the question.
