Should disagreements with management be communicated to those charged with governance even if the disagreements are small and have been resolved? This is from Becker’s ME #2 and the answer key states that auditors should discuss with those charged with governance any disagreements with management. Is it true? does not sound right to me…

Haven't taken Audit yet but from school and internship all disagreements should be communicated. It's normally put in the audit management letter at the conclusion of the audit if i remember correctly.

Keep in mind you're hired by and reporting to those charged with governance, you report on management and you do not work for them. Accordingly even small disagreements should be communicated.

Remember those charged with governance would DISAPPROVE if you did not communicate the following (ROGER CPA REVIEW).

AU-C 260 talks about this. I went thru it real fast just now and it seems like all of the stuff discussed with management has to be reported whether resolved or not.. at lease the standard doesnt mention anything regarding not to tell them if it's been resolved unless i missed it. Good question though!
